Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval approved a $335 million incentive package to attract upstart electric carmaker Faraday Future's billion-dollar factory to a hard-hit Las Vegas suburb, even though the company has yet to unveil a concept car or bring a product to market.
The move came shortly after the Legislature voted overwhelmingly to support the deal Saturday, after a four-day special session in Carson City. Lawmakers learned last week that Chinese billionaire Jia Yueting was backing the secretive California-based company, which employs some former Tesla Motors executives, and that Faraday plans to bring 4,500 direct jobs to Nevada. ...

You mean without bothering to turn it into a car first?
IIRC it was a Chinese company intent upon using SAAB as the basis for some electric car in the future that purchased the now defunct SAAB rights from General Motors.
Curious IF Americans will be used to perform all the R. & D. under the name of Faraday for the Chinese SAAB whether it bears the name SAAB, or not.
Might be some American techies quite disappointed in their futures about the time the R. & D. is winding down.
What a deal. That’s only $74,444 per job.

Nevada gov aren’t actually spending $300 million. They’re just not collecting $300 million worth of taxes as long as X company spend billions in investment in the state
Exactly. It’s a tax cut. You’d think conservatives would support every tax cut possible. Especially when those lots of new jobs could easily go overseas.
