Trump Celebrates Christmas at Rally Talking Putin Praise By JOSH HASKELL JOHN SANTUCCI Dec 19, 2015
Christmas appears to have come early for Presidential candidate Donald Trump as he basked in the praise received from Russian President Vladimir Putin while on the campaign trail in Iowa Saturday.
"Russia's got plenty of problems. But I'll tell you what, if Putin likes me and he thinks I'm a good, smart person, that's a good thing. Not a bad thing," Trump said.
Acknowledging that Trump's GOP rivals didn't exactly think an endorsement from Putin was something to gloat about, the billionaire businessman told the Cedar Rapids, Iowa, crowd in his best Jeb Bush voice "Putin called him brilliant, that's not good."
Accusing Bush and others of wanting to ignite "World War III," Trump pondered what it would be like if Russia and the U.S. could "knock out an enemy together."
"This would be a great start if you think about it. The money we spend on fighting everybody," Trump told his Christmas themed rally.
Weighing in on Saturday night's Democratic presidential debate, Trump called Hillary Clinton "a snake" and Bernie Sanders a "poor guy ... gave this whole thing away," referring to the first debate when Sanders said, "Enough with the damn emails," and said he would not criticize Clinton about her controversial use of a private server while she was secretary of state.

He isn't "lawyerly", speaks clearly ( no weasel words ! ), and knows people who get things done!
That’s pretty much why TRUMP is winning. All he rest are selling us a walk into the policy and process weeds.
TRUMP works the whole picture, gets it, and we’re buying. Who has the time for weeds? We’re in collapse.
We’ve been in weeds for 7 years. These runners for prez with a quick pace through the senate, now have dubious records and the governors are not cutting it, either.
Comes TRUMP who says what we’re thinking, proving he has first thought as we have thought. No need for the trails.
“None of you supporters worry that he is not all that deep?”
Obviously you are, so explain how he built up his multi-billion dollar empire, and explain how you built up yours.
“But a President handles everything.”
No. Impossible. Moses couldn’t. Ronald Reagan was know as the great delegater.
“No worries that heâs not got the right training and depth of knowledge for it?”
Politicians have been coming to him with hat in hand wanting money. It was not vice versa. That must mean something; they thought it did. Trump has always been a man of action, as opposed to a politician who portrays himself as a pure purveyor of conservative theory.
“Those unnamed expert genies will handle the details?”
You mean you don’t think we have any. Has Obama made use of them? Successful CEOs find and develop talent.
He understood that every act, no matter how trivial, would become precedent. He had to stay for two terms or the country would fall apart, but knew he couldn’t stay for three. He thought if he died in office, it would set a very bad example to have Adams just “assume” the presidency. He wanted Adams elected on his own. He (Trump like) made one speech to Congress on a treaty to explain it to them, and when they questioned it, he blew up and said he’d never return to that chamber again. And didn’t.
Congrats, we’ll be neighbors in that Western sort of way. I’m over in NM.
I am now actively committed to spreading the word that if Trump gets the GOP nomination, his theme song should be “Eye of the Tiger.”
The "concern trolls" are laughable.
Actually I see virtue in his simplicity and directness. They allow him to see problems, state the problems and attack the problems. Let people be offended, we need to clear out the morass of political correctness that has paralyzed our country. Microaggression is so passe.
The life Trump has led has been excellent training for leading our Nation. He has a broad base of very practical knowledge and the experience of being in charge and taking responsibility. Add to that his facility in working with and judging people of all walks of life and in many nations. His responsibility for a vast business empire is very relevant to the complex task he will face in repairing America at home and on the world stage.
Trump has named many of the experts he will engage on America’s behalf Carl Icahn, Senator Sessions for example and they sure sound better than the current crop or any of the politically connected lot we so often have running things. I like a man who calls a spade a spade, who is not afraid to listen to assessments from experts and then incorporate their ideas as Trump has done already in this campaign season. Most of all I like a man who loves my country and is committing so much of his energy, time and funds to make a difference, to make America great once more, to let her stand unashamed again as a symbol of liberty & justice. After the last 8 years we have a long way to go.
Putin’s compliment to Trump was more of an insult to Obama, whom Putin called “a child”.
How many were undecided? :)
No. Impossible. Moses couldnât.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
You are right, Moses was smart enough to take his father-in-law’s advice.
He also insulted scum when he compared it to the media. Getting angry about these gratuitous insults!
In my view, for some one to accept Putin’s endorsement as a positive he/she would have to view Putin as a good man, with America’s interests at heart. Somehow that just doesn’t ring true to me. Putin is not a friend of the US, he is an adversary. His endorsement carries as much weight as one from George Soros. Why would I think it is a good idea for the other side to select our leader?
Didn’t we all learn from the voices that told us BHO was going to be a wonderful leader, save the US and the entire world? Who were the people that made him out to he the Second Coming, giving him the Nobel Peace Prize based strictly on what they were telling us he was going to some time in the future? Who were these people? Not conservative Americans for sure.
Trump’s giant ego is allowing him to be punked by Putin. It shows he is too shallow for this position.
P.s. Does anyone really think Cruz is running for VP?
Exactly where is this training ground for presidents? Traditional political parties. Elected office? I will try a private sector businessman this time.
I don't know how you could not like Trump when Cruz is a Trump parrot. No worries that heâs not got the right training and depth of knowledge for it?
Like Cruz with about the same experience as Obama for example? Those unnamed expert genies will handle the details?
So now he's the only one that has to give names? He has access to the same "genies" (and more) that everyone else has. Who does Cruz have? The same ones that got us in this mess?
I don’t think that is a logical analysis.
A “good” man is fairly hard to define and the definition depends on where you are standing. Putin’s endorsement does not depend on whether you like him or are stupid enough to think he would put America’s interests above his own.
Putin is a strong man, assertive, aggressive, willing to pursue his course despite outcries from many quarters.
For Putin to complement Trump means simply that he believes Trump is a force to be reckoned with and that he has gravitas. Not such a bad thing for Trump to have impressed this man, America will need to be at the table with him many times. The first step in working with a man like Putin is to convince him you are serious about winning for your Nation, that you are forceful, sagacious, tenacious and not easily cowed.
We just had a state dinner for the head of China. You think he’s any better than Putey? He’s worse. The President of the United States has to deal with and negotiate with the Devil every day while in office. The better you can get along with these people the more chance you have to influence them.
Your comment is a good reason why you are not in the running for the GOP Presidential nominee. You have no clue.
-— He can’t be specific yet. The other candidates will steal his ideas and run on them...the day after they try to ridicule him -—
Who stole the strawberries?
