Watch the Campy Christmas Infomercial Ted Cruz Is About To Play During SNL

Watch the Cruz Christmas Classics (Video)

Hope you're ready for a campy Ted Cruz Christmas parody meets infomercial meets sanctioned campaign ad. The Texas Senator and 2016 presidential candidate will play the above ad in crucial Iowa TV markets during this weekend's “Saturday Night Live” broadcast, according to Cruz Communications Director Catherine Frazier. Cruz is no stranger to non-traditional campaigning, he has cooked bacon on the end of a machine gun and performed full-throated “Princess Bride” impressions on the trail in 2016. The above video features Cruz reading to his two daughters, along with his wife, in a traditional Christmas setting. However, the Christmas tales he tells are political satire.

The Cruz campaign gave Independent Journal this quote about the video:

“In the spirit of the upcoming holiday, we are excited to bring a Cruz family Christmas into the homes of SNL viewers in Iowa. Ted is a long time fan of SNL, so the chance to film his own SNL-style commercial was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up!”

Cruz is in the midst of a national surge, polling at 17 percent of likely Republican voters, according to Reuters.

Merry Christmas, but not to former Speaker John Boehner.

How come Mama Cruz didn’t get any lines? Surely there must be some gag she can make about the New World Order, North American Union or Goldman Sachs.

I have watched SNL almost since its first show and yes, it’s not too good right now. There are good hilarious periods, then not so good. I think it is mostly the writers more than the actors but I have faith it will get good again!

Superb! Glad 2C my money making fruit! I don’t give to any poly-tick easily, but Ted is going to get a money bomb when the meat fleshes from the bone and he’s the last man standing. Finally a statesman. He may be our last.

Mitch Mc Connell my hero??? Don’t know where you got that. All I am saying is that Cruz is a slick classic politician that will do or say anything to win votes. He has a very smart team who knows what and when do say or do what it takes. That’s a classic Politician. Whether or not he has any values that mean anything is another story. One thing about Trump is you know where he stands. Cruz is a Politician and as such you never know where he really stands. He has been a political operative for a long time and is backed by Wall Street and Trial Lawyers. That should tell you something.

“One thing about Trump is you know where he stands.”

Yep! He stands shoulder to shoulder with President Obama. Or at least, he did in 2009.

Yeah it tells me you are sick in the head and big hypocrite to boot. There wasn't as much as a squeak from you when Trump pandered to the SNL crowd by hosting SNL to advance his campaign. Most Trumpbots on here cheered to high heaven about what a smart astute move Trump was making and what a great show it was. Now the same Trumpbots appear on all the threads on this Ted Cruz SNL Christmas commercial to spew out garbage?

That is interesting - I just realized the Trump people have no sense of humor when it comes to their guy. Not sure what it means, but I usually associate a lack of sense of humor to insecurity about the topic of their lack.

I love it! The video is really charming and the biting satire fits perfectly with the SNL venue. Ted’s daughters, Caroline and Catherine, look so natural in the setting because Ted reads to them often in real life. The Cruz campaign team is incredibly smart and use their funding wisely.

"Mitch Mc Connell my hero??? Don’t know where you got that."

You aren't aware you have a posting history?

You've always been quick to jump in defense of McConnell. It isn't surprising that a Constitutional conservative is poison to you.
