Governor Susana Martinez says she regrets the way she handled a late-night phone call to Santa Fe police following a noise complaint involving a party for the governor's staff held at a posh Santa Fe hotel.
Recordings of the phone call obtained by KRQE News 13 reveal a conversation between emergency dispatchers and the governor, as she tries to convince police that there's no need for them to respond to the complaint early Sunday morning.
On several occasions, Martinez pressures the dispatcher and hotel staff to reveal the identity of who made the complaint. The dispatcher and hotel staff refuse.
At the end of the recorded call, Martinez, referring to the officers who arrived at the hotel, tells dispatchers: "You can call them off."

“Don’t you know who I am?”
I just listened to the recordings, and she’s a real be-yotch to the front desk and police dispatchers, about as catty and snippy as they come. Not fit for an elective office, period.
NM is a tribal place..
“Yes I do, Governor. And I’m the police officer who’s going to walk you to my car in handcuffs.”
And post it on youtube...
I suspect she was drunk from the sound of the tapes, in any case, she’s a prime example of why the Founders wanted limited government. Impressed by the hotel employees & police for not putting up with her nonsense.
The way she continually says “piiiezza” screams drunk.
I’ve not really heard her speak much, but she sounds in the cups to me....she was nasty and totally out of line. I’m about sick of government on every level at this point.
Wow...does she ever sound like a pompous, entitled elitist. I hope she’s quickly scratched off everybody’s list of potential running mates.
No doubt all paid for with New Mexico taxpayers money. Inquiring minds want to know.
No report was ever filed by Santa Fe Police... After receiving "assurances" from staff and hotel security that the matter was under control. Ross said the city's officers made the decision not to investigate further on their own.So now we know the Santa Fe police are as corrupt as the governor. The Santa Fe officers did not attempt to contact the hotel guest who made the complaint, nor did they go up to the governor's fourth-floor room to investigate further. Ross said the officers made a sweep of the outside of the building to look for evidence of broken bottles, but found nothing.
Santa Fe's interim police chief, Patrick Gallagher, was at the holiday party as an invited guest. Ross said the chief was not notified of the call until Monday morning.
In addition:
Reached by News 13 Thursday evening, Chris Sanchez, the governor's spokesman claimed not to have information about the call or whether the governor was at the Eldorado Hotel on Saturday night and early Sunday morning. So the governor's spokesman, as part of the governor's staff claims not to know the governor was at a staff party. BS! The Republican governor and her staff are as corrupt as the Demonicrats.
Meh, non-scandal.
I like her fine but word is she is prone to chew people out so I’m sure there would be a lot of stories of incidents, which wouldn’t be good.
She’s an unlikely VP match for the 3 frontrunners anyway.
