The problem we face with someone like Putin is he’s devilishly clever. He and the Russians in general play chess, thinking many moves ahead of their opponents, while most of us, unfortunately, have a difficult enough time playing checkers. Some would even have trouble setting up the board for a game of checkers.
Putin is no fool and he’s completely focused on his goals. I have no doubt that he is ruthless and calculating.
