Probably not treason. We haven't declared war on ISIS even if they have declared war on us, so not giving aid and comfort to the enemy. And not levying war against the United States, just against Syria and its factions.
You can expect muzzies to be traitors in the war against ISIS. Islam is thicker than blood among Muslims.

It's only treason if he's a US citizen.
Otherwise he's a non-uniformed enemy combatant, and can be treated as one would treat any spy or saboteur.
