The interesting thing is, the Japanese who were interned have been rather understanding of it. I know some of them are bitter about it, and they do address it. None the less they do it in a reasoned manner. Their lives were negatively impacted, and significantly.

Compare their plight of some other groups who have whined for fifty years, have used their plight to justify not doing anything to better themselves, and are continually blaming everyone but themselves for their situation.

My biggest beef about what was done to the Japanese here, is that their personal property was absconded with and liquidated.

That was not right > IMO.

Some things you may have to do, but you do it in as humane a way as possible.

>>His Supporters Think Japanese Internment Was Good

Most people in 1942 thought it was good. But it is not the same as telling people they come here for a while we get our procedures straight.

However, the internment of Progressives sounds like a great idea.

Plenty of headlines to the effect that Donald Trump might have supported Japanese internment in WWII.

It's stupid. Any one of us or all of us (Americans) might well have supported Japanese internment if we'd been around during that war.

That's how people thought back then. They would probably have killed Baby Hitler if they could have.

Ok, so a 3 pt lead is edging Cruz if Trump ahead.

However, a 3 pt lead is trouncing Trump if Cruz ahead.

So sick of these people.

61% of muslims in America are first generation immigrants. Big difference keeping that number from rising, unvetted.

The fact we can’t even call it for what it really was proves bow unjust it was. They were Concentration Camps.

Internment makes the bitter pill tolerable. The fact that prisoners weren’t flagrantly abused or neglected doesn’t change the fact either.

The whole thing is a horrific violation of habeas corpus and a terrible precedent.

Think it was good?

Of course. I happen to have Japanese gardeners in my back yard.

They do a great job. A lot better than the gnomes. I've never seen any of those guys lift a finger.

People ask me, "how do you know you have Japanese gardeners in your back yard?" "Have you seen them?"

I have to honestly answer "no".

"So why do you think they are there..?", they ask.

"Simple" I say, "it's the banzai trees, and the little cars".

His Supporters Think Japanese Internment Was Good

I don't know if I think it was "good", exactly. But I understand it, I agree with the reasoning of Korematsu, and I would have interned any visa holders from Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Iraq, and Pakistan who did not depart within 15 days in September 2001, as I posted here repeatedly.

My wife’s grandfather was an immigrant from Germany. He earned his citizenship by fighting in the Spanish American War. He became a teacher. During WWI he was fired from his job, their house and all their possessions were burned to the ground. They relocated to a different state; they were penniless and what few clothes they had turned to rags. It was only by the grace of God that they didn’t starve and managed not to die of exposure.

During WWII there were many Japanese who openly practiced the Shinto “religion” which meant at that time that they worshipped the Emperor Hirohito as a God. Many sent their children to Japanese schools which taught the superiority of the Japanese over all other peoples. The Japanese had plans to attack the West Coast of the United States. Anyone who thinks that it was not prudent to place them in internment camps is not aware of all of the circumstances from that time period. The best intelligence available was used to make the determination of what should be done.

My wife and I set up living history displays and give presentations at schools, museums, and for community and military groups. We have some Japanese friends who do the same type of thing trying to “educate” people about the Japanese internment during WWII. We always cringe because they constantly refer to the internment camps as “concentration camps” and make other comparisons to the Nazis which is completely inaccurate. My wife’s grandparents would have been very happy if during WWI they would have been at least given a place to stay, warm clothing and food.

The progressive rewriting of history is very disturbing when even people who consider themselves to be Republicans supporting Jeb Bush feel that the internment of the Japanese was wrong. Those who know the true history know that it was not wrong... a credible threat was addressed the best way they could figure out during a war time crisis. War is not fair... it is what it is... Hell.

Ever since Citizens United decision was approved where average people are crapped on and wealthy people given the keys to Congress, etc. our country been put further under water. Conservatives were also led to believe that media consolidation and unlimited donor funds were good for conservatives. Wrong.....The media is our enemy. Most conservatives are not remotely in sync with the globalist sovereignty stealing corporatists that media consolidation and this policy serves.

“Corporatist” does not now nor ever equal conservative, either now or in the future or past.
