All schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District were shut down today following an unspecified threat, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
The closings are out of “an abundance of caution," the LAPD said.
An electronic threat was received this morning mentioning the safety of the schools, officials said at a news conference today. The threat is still being analyzed, officials said.

Seems overreaction, a bit of kneejerk response that only adds to fear. Guess depends on if the threat is real or not.
Far better we collapse as a nation than allow a few Muslims to be delayed from immigrating.

After listening to the lame news conference, my money is on this being a rash overreaction, which will lead to lots of recrimination over the course of the day. Who’s the idiot with the ballcap? And, musical chairs to get everyone a moment in front of the microphone to basically say nothing. Not impressive. Glad I don’t live in the LA area anymore.

Large operations require numerous people involved and/or aware. Sometimes someone has an actual conscience and acts on the information in time to warn the targets. Sometimes police/intelligence already is monitoring participants and realizes attack is imminent.

Shortly after San Bernadino, there was a terrorist threat in the LA area, info on threat came out of Iraq. It wasn’t reported in the news at the time (not that I saw), but I did see an article later that said police & authorities were “breathing a sigh of relief” when the time window for that particular ‘threat’ passed. I wonder if this is related in some way & that’s why they’ve closed the schools .... not an overreaction necessarily if this ties in to the previous threat situation.

It seems during the IRA days there was a protocol. They’d phone in a bomb’s target a few minutes before the blast. I guess that was a civilized terrorism. Now the objective is to kill as many as possible and to plant secondary bombs to kill the first responders. So, in answer to your question, if it was a Muslim terror attack it’s a fake.
