"The Five", with or without Beckel had about as much entertainment appeal as the test pattern in the early days of television.
The few times I watched 'the five" I saw a bunch of so called "television personalities" working overtime at trying to out intellect each other.
All appear to be members of the "fatally hip" gang who offer little or NO intellectual insight or entertainment value, but rather are novices learning how to pose and posture as TV personalities regarding the issues of the day.
I'd get more enjoyment watching a "Peewee's Playhouse" rerun with Peewee Herman and his cast, simply because, like a line from an old Carly Simon song.. "the times you impressed me the most were the times you didn't even try."
"The Five" tries too hard, but fails to deliver anything that manifests itself as entertainment, at least to me as a viewer.

Gutfeld had a funny segment the other night [I can’t find the clip or transcript] . In the bit he compared *Trump-speak* to the old TV gameshow, *Name That Tune.*
Claimed Trump blurts out a phrase or word ...like *massive inoculations* ...or *the difference between China’s leaders and our leaders* and the press spends the next week filling in what he meant by his bombastic comment.
[Gut is unwatchable ...only occasionally, are his writers funny.]

BTW Trump was not taking the GOPe’s position on Cruz calling McTurleman a liar. Listen to the comment. He’s saying that is NOT how you negotiate and it’s not. Either way this will be gone in three days and so will the “Cruz surge.”
