As Ted Cruz becomes an ever present threat to his lead in Iowa, Donald Trump is trying several new attack lines against the senator from Texas.
'I don't think he's qualified to be president,' Trump said on Fox News Sunday.
When pressed by host Chris Wallace, Trump explained that Cruz â known for his bullish behavior in Washington â didn't have the right 'temperament' to be commander in chief.
'When you look at the way he's dealt with the Senate, where he goes in there like, frankly, a little bit like a maniac â you're never going to get things done that way,' Trump said.
...
On Fox, where Trump took a tougher tone, he used Cruz's Washington reputation against the senator.
'You can't walk into the Senate and scream and call people liars and not be able to cajole and get along with people,' Trump said. 'Liar,' is what Cruz branded Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in July during a fiery floor speech.
'He'll never get anything done and that's the problem with Ted,' Trump added.
Sitting down with CNN's Jake Tapper, Trump talked about having a cordial relationship with Cruz.
'He's been so nice to me,' Trump gushed. 'I mean, I would say anything and he said, "I agree, I agree."'
'But I think the time will come to an end pretty soon, it sounds like,' Trump added.

I’m sure you had no problem Cruz was telling people he had issues with Trump and Carson being around the nuclear button
Those firewalls are not in place for Presidents, that is why I want Cruz there and NOT Trump.
Entirely possible, as I think you know.
Yep
Bush Left office with about 20% support. I submit to you that that had a lot to do with how the media decided to portray him. It will work, in todays current PC environment, against Cruz and it will not work against Trump (As we’ve seen over the course of the campaign). I expect that at the end of a Cruz Presidency Abortion on demand is still the law, gay marriage is still the excepted and promoted and there will continue to be rampant illegal immigration. At the end of a Trump Presidency Abortion on demand is still law, gay marriage will still be the norm, a wall will be built on the border with Mexico, political correctness will be utterly damaged and the Media will be grossly weakened. In this environment a Cruz Presidency would mean that gay Marriage could be rolled back and abortion on demand will not be accepted and Cruz can move the country hard right. I’m not against Cruz I just don’t think his Presidency works best in the current environment
Trump is a winner. He went after Carson with the media attacks as well because he saw a way to take him down and that’s just what he did. He wants to win. Everyone complains when you have a Romney not going hard and can’t take it when you get a Trump who wants to win. He is saying these things about Cruz because he wants it repeated just enough to slow his train. Do you expect him to just let Cruz win to make Rush happy? Ultimately he respect Cruz which is why these punches were not as hard as a normal Trump hit. We’ll see where it goes from here. As long as their supporters don’t go crazy against one another this will be fine
You should understand that this after Cruz questioned Trump in the leaked audio to his big donors about Trump.
“Ted Cruz Questions Donald Trump’s ‘Judgment’ to Be President”
Nope, Cruz (along with co-sponsor Rand Paul) did exactly what Trump explicitly requested and completed the Trump plan. Trump proposed a temporary, short term pause in Muslim immigration until people in government figured out what to do with the current problem. Trump didn't propose a permanent, total, end to Muslim immigration although some of his supporters act like he'd done something that profound. Trump didn't propose a final solution, he explicitly punted that to 'government.' Cruz and Paul, who are currently working in 'government,' claim to have figured it out and have proposed a solution, blocking immigrants from countries that meet certain criteria. The proper thing for Trump to be doing would be to comment on the Cruz proposed solution, either agreeing with it or stating what he dislikes about it. Instead Trump's ignored it and basks in the misguided praise of his incomplete, temporary proposal.
The Trump style, when he wants to get something done, is to negotiate in back rooms, not taking the stage and publicly espousing his position. He is not going to show his cards. He is critical of Cruz for doing this and losing.
It is more of an art of deal making, a Trump credit.
IMHO
Rush called Trump “Donald McCain” for his Democrat/Establishment attack on Cruz.
So I guess the fact he is now polling at 41% nationally isn’t important?
From the article -”He holds a staggering 27-point lead over Sen. Ted Cruz, who holds 14 percent support. Sen. Marco Rubio has 10 percent support and Ben Carson has 9 percent. Trump climbed 13 percentage points since the last Monmouth University poll in late October.”
Exactly my thought. Irony, thy name is Donald.
Let’s see how things look in February and March, when some actual votes are taken, i.e., Republicans going to polling places in the winter to vote in Republican primaries for their party’s nominee.
The clinton donor said this......lmao!

Yes, similar to when the polls show a Cruz 10% lead in Iowa, right?
And what are Donald’s qualifications?
Since Cruz won’t pick a fight with Trump, Trump seems to be determined to pick a fight with Cruz.
Just like a typical politician.
Just like the GOP Establishment.
Pfft. From Trump? This isn’t attacking; this is mild.
Media trying to make a mountain out of a molehill.
