You will never guess. Not only does no one care if carbon credits don’t cut carbon emissions, but hardly anyone cares if so called climate money is even spent on the climate. As many as 66% of climate projects funded by the developed world have nothing to do with “climate vulnerabilityâ€.
It’s the bragging game — politicians want to make out they are doing a lot for the climate, but there’s barely any accountability to check whether they get value for money — by how many thousandths of a degree did that policy cool the world? So they inflate their spending promises by claiming random other projects are “climate projects†or they use accounting trickery.
University of Zurich’s Axel Michaelowa, who studies climate aid grants, found “there was a huge misrepresentation. Governments were actually really not able to report properly†on aid that was supposed to help countries reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
His study, conducted on specific climate grants four years ago, showed a list of “projects without any conceivable climate change connotation,†such as Belgium funding for a “love movie festival†in the early 2000s in Africa, a U.S.-funded study on Savannah elephant sounds, and uniforms for park guardians in Central America with aid from Spain.
For their website Adaptation Watch, Weikmans and Brown University environmental studies professor Timmons Roberts studied 5,201 projects mentioned by developed nations and found that 3,444 of them “did not explicitly link project activities to addressing climate vulnerability,†Weikmans said.
Yet again, another aspect of the climate facade is just fluff.
The OECD say $62 billion is being spent, India reckons the real number is $1 billion.
Simon Buckle of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), wrote a report, tallying how much of the $100 billion-a-year target has been pledged. It’s about $62 billion a year as of 2014, his report said.
India, however, looked at the same report said the real number was probably less than $1 billion a year. It issued a report of its own calling the OECD document full of “inflated numbers.â€
In an interview with the AP, Indian Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar dismissed the OECD report as “a double-counting exercise.†He said actual climate finance flowing to developing countries was much smaller.
There’s a big difference between 62 and 1. Prof Timmons Roberts tried to pin it down and guesses the range is $20 – $30b.
Wait and see if the Greens howl about this. It’s not actual temperatures, or actual emissions, but it is actual money. That might be close enough to home to matter. Kudos to Oxfam International for at least trying to track this.
But again, more hypocrisy rears. When Japan and Australia count funding to build more efficient coal power, which does really lower emissions, activists won’t accept it. Coal is the enemy. So on the one hand, Savannah Elephant Sounds counts as climate spending for a bragging government, yet in activist world, a 15% reduction in real emissions does not. Is CO2 the biggest threat to the planet? Not as big a threat as an industry that doesn’t need government support.

the world knows damn well that much of the $$ is going straight into terrorist groups and terrorist regimes-
By all rights, when after 5 or so years the climate hasn’t changed one iota, we should be able to sue the UN for defrauding us
And one day later, it will be made known that all these grandiose schemes were ineffective because there was never a problem in the first place. Despite a general warming trend that started at the end of the little ice age over two hundred years ago... satellite data shows that the planet hasn't actually warmed in approximately 20 years. Historical records from ground based weather reporting stations used to show that it was warmer during the 1930s than it is currently. By manipulating the data this has now been erased from the official record.

Here’s some more facts that show that this whole scam is a lie
CO2 was much higher many thousands of years ago- over 800 ppm- The earth survived fine
CO2 always rises 800 years AFTER temperatures rise- proving that CO2 is not the cause of climate change- Ice core samples prove this fact
Although CO2 has been rising for the last 20 years on a yearly basis- temperatures have remained flat- proving once again that CO2 does NOT drive temperature changes
Our atmosphere is 6 quadrillion tons- man’s production of CO2 amounts to a whopping 0.00136% of that total (What do the alarmists thin we should reduce that amount to? 0.00135%?)
(The amount of CO2 by ALL sources, man and nature, is just 0.04% of the atmosphere- man is responsible for 3.4% of that 0.04% meaning 3.4% of 0.04% = 0.00136%)
I would like the alarmists to explain to the world how just 0.00136% of our atmosphere can possibly capture enough escaping heat to cause climate change
I would also like them to explain to us all how CO2 can possibly be causing climate change when temperatures always rise 800 years before CO2 levels do
And finally I would like them to explain to us all how the climate has remained flat for 20 years when CO2 levels have steadily risen since they claim CO2 causes climate change

For me the global warming scam has been a revelation. I of course knew that it was possible for government representatives to lie or for persons in the media to lie but I presumed that the truth would prevail in a reasonable period of time. I thought that except for a few corrupt individuals that the morality and traditions of the United States would keep our media and government honest. But leftist leadership in our country have now demonstrated clearly that morality and tradition mean nothing to them. The truth means nothing to leftist leadership. There is no example that makes this more clear than the global warming scam.
The other epiphany is how vulnerable a large percentage of the population is to scams like this. I would have thought that with the explosion in information technology that this type of misinformation would be very difficult to perpetuate. But this discredited theory should have died out at least a decade ago when it was clearly shown that the observational data did not fit the models or the theory. The “climategate” emails among the top level “scientific” leadership should have put a stake through its heart. But we find instead that the rhetoric has only increased from the people who are pushing this on the population.

Exactly- like I said above- they no longer even care if there is scientific facts which refute what they say- they simply forge right on ahead with their lies and dare us to contradict them- and now they enact law without even going through the proper legal channels anymore- They brainwash our kids, and they fine those who oppose them
It’s been shocking how fast our morality in this nation has disintegrated - Evil is now truth, truth is now unacceptable and in some cases now punishable by law
