To have a self-acclaimed socialist in the Senate of a nation that spent two generations fighting against it is a surprise, but to have one running to be the leader of the free world is a real wake up call as to how far removed this last generation has drifted from the truth of the abject failure of socialism and what an unworkable system it really is.
Socialism is a philosophy, a utopian ideal that has only ever worked in small groups of like-minded people, religious groups, communes or such, that have made the decision to devote themselves, their affluence and their talents, to a common cause, basically putting it all into one pot and everybody taking out what is needed for their survival.
Now, that sounds humane and charitable in theory, but in practice it is counterproductive. And in actuality, in a society where a handful of the people do all the work and the others decide that it makes no difference how hard they work, they'll never get any farther than they are. So, why work?

Excellent explanation,
Socialism cannot survive without capitalism for it to feed off of. Now that capitalism is being brought down all over the world, there is no way in hell for socialism to survive. No way. These jackass Socialist wannabes in this country are in for a rude awakening and it’s coming soon. Very soon.
Here are the Six Conundrums of Socialism in the United States of America:
1. America is capitalist and greedy - yet half of the population is subsidized. And, while all of the above may be unexplainable, it explains everything!2. Half of the population is subsidized - yet they think they are victims.
3. They think they are victims - yet their representatives run the government.
4. Their representatives run the government - yet the poor keep getting poorer.
5. The poor keep getting poorer - yet they have things that people in other countries only dream about.
6. They have things that people in other countries only dream about - yet they want America to be more like those other countries.
What a Conundrum!
"The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism.
But under the name of "liberalism" they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program,
until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."
--Norman Thomas, longtime U.S. Socialist Presidential candidate

destruction of the price system = economic chaos
abolition of private property = elimination of the means and motive of economic progress
elimination of profits = elimination of the means and motive of economic progress
government ownership of the mean of production = decreased quality and quantity of products and services for consumers
redistributionism = assault on saving and productive expenditure by the capitalists = reduced source of production of products and services and reduced source of funds to workers for consumption
all the above together = decline and decay of the middle class and decreased average real wage rate and decreased standard of living for the average worker
Socialism/Communism
my friend went to ukraine in ‘92
he offered a deal to 5 huge commune farms there
i guarantee you double the output you had last year
we split anything over that.....i bear all the costs
the very next year the output was 5 times the previous year
under communism there was NO INCENTIVE TO PRODUCE...
the profit motive and my friends farming skills from iowa produced results
Drug warriors see pot behind everything, don’t they?
As for socialism, if people can’t tell it’s bad, m’kay?, with the case of Venezuela staring them in the face, they are fools truly, and a second term of Obama shows there are millions of fools out there. The Tea Party may be the last gasp effort of a nation swerving off the road and into the ditch.
Socialism is for losers, winners don’t need it.
