Yes, but in the case of Carson you had a serious pipe dream there from the get go. I don’t think his numbers were anywhere near as high as they were stated.
That was a last ditch effort to build momentum in anyone but Trump.
Trump has worked tirelessly to attain the numbers he has. You can think of what he has been up to and understand why his numbers are high.
With Carson we were left scratching our heads, as a guy not doing any campaigning was jumping ten to fifteen points in the polls.
Trump isn’t going to crater. His numbers have been more solid than ever over the last week. He’s been there for months. That gravity thought isn’t up to snuff.
Another poster said, “What else are you going to say talking to donors?” and I agree with that.
This was a small meeting (I think) and he didn’t mean for the words to get out. I’m not particularly impressed that someone did out them.
If he wants to make public statements to that effect, the media will put it out there gladly.
