Resolution Barring Consideration of Religion in Immigration Passes Senate Committee

Dear Senator

If the GOP wishes to control the Senate after the 2016 elections, they best kill this bit of grandstanding PR nonsense quickly. The GOP Leadership of the US Senate could not be more out of touch with the will of the voters on this issue if they were actively trying.

8 U.S. Code § 1182 - Inadmissible aliens

(f) Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by President

Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate

Didn’t Jimmy Carter ban Shia Muslims (Iranians, Persians) from entering the U.S.?

Doesn’t U.S. law currently ban the naturalization (if not the immigration) of persons who will not affirm their friendliness (in so many words) with the principles of liberty of the U.S., etc.?

Are the Quran and Hadith not inherently hostile to the principles of secular government, human liberty, democracy, etc.?

I believe it is already not legal to ban immigrants based on religion- We can however ban someone based on their nationality IF their nationality poses a possible risk to our nation

There are about 3,000,000 (3M) Muslims in the U.S. Many hundreds of thousands of them completely reject America, its freedom and many want to kill you for them.

Here are their opinions:

Sharia in America: "51% of U.S. Muslims (1.5M) ... polled believe ... that they should have the choice of American or Sharia courts" (1)

Reject U.S. Law: 61%. Only "39% of (U.S. Muslims, ~1.2M) said that Muslims in the U.S. should be subject to American courts." (1) That means the other 61% (~1.8M) of U.S. Muslims believe they should not be subject to American courts.

Sharia Superiority: 33% of U.S. Muslims (~1M) believe that "If Sharia conflicts with the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights", then Sharia "should be considered supreme." (1)

Violence against First Amendment Rights: 29% (~900,000) U.S. Muslims agree that "violence against those who insult the prophet mohammed, the quran, or the Islamic faith is sometimes acceptable." (1)

Sharia by Jihad: 11% of U.S. Muslims (~330,000) believe that Sharia is "The Muslims god allah's Law that Muslims must follow and impose world-wide via Jihad" (1)
