Donald J. Trump occupies his strongest position yet in the race for the Republican presidential nomination, yet nearly two-thirds of American voters say they are concerned or frightened about the prospect of a Trump presidency, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News nationwide poll.

Mr. Trump commands the support of 35 percent of Republican primary voters, leading his closest competitors, Senator Ted Cruz of Texas (16 percent) and Ben Carson (13 percent) by a more than 2-to-1 margin. While Mr. Carson's support was cut in half since the last time The Times and CBS News polled on the race in late October, Mr. Cruz has quadrupled his share. Senator Marco Rubio of Florida's support stands at 9 percent, with the rest of the candidates at 4 percent or less.

You are so right. The Libtards rule is almost over. Time to tell 26% of the country to STFU and sit down.

Of course that has occurred to me and is possible. But the truth is, no one who is a billionaire got to be a billionaire by being “nice”. Actually, they contracted with him to do multiple projects at the same time, to answer your question.

I just don’t trust Trump, not because of his business ethics, but the damage he is doing to the GOP and it is intentional almost like a vendetta. I know some will say, GOOD, they deserve it, but I am telling you every one of the GOP candidates would be a breath of fresh air over Hillary Clinton. I honestly believe Trump is a spoiler and is in it to get HC elected.

Just amazing. EVERY poll this week so far has Trump over 30. Except for one at 31, he is at or over 35% in every state and national poll. I suspect he’s really closing in on 40 in most of these. (Translation: virtually the entire field put together can’t beat him).

Great point. I sure don’t recall the Times ever asking survey questions about whether Americans were concerned or scared about a Barack Obama presidency back in 2008, because I sure as hell was and rightly so!

Anyone under 5% should not be main stage for debates.

I would pretty much go so far as to say the RINOs didn’t really even CARE all that much if Dole, McCain, and Romney won the general election. As long as THEIR establishment pick got the party nomination, that seemed good enough for them.

Well, Cruz *has* surged to second place in almost every recent poll. Even though he’s still my first choice to be the nominee, I don’t think anyone who’s intellectual honest can question the fact that Trump is firmly in the driver’s seat and it’s his race to lose at the point.

For the record, I would be perfectly fine with a Trump presidency.

***************

Just hang on for a while..... Cruz is on the rise and will
beat him all by himself. /s
It does appear it is Trumps to lose but he can get free and
loose with his comments at times.
The debates can still be a factor is someone screws up badly.

Tuesday, December 15, 2015 CNN
Thursday, January 14, 2016 Fox Business
Thursday, January 28, 2016 Fox News
Saturday, February 6, 2016 ABC
Saturday, February 13, 2016 CBS

And three more on the schedule but you’d think the race
would be pretty much settled
by mid Feb. although early/mid March brings in a lot of
the primary schedule.

It appears to be large number of women on this site would happily talk about TRUMP and the almost impossible job he could do in setting this country on the right track.

In my circle of friends ‘face to face’ there are also a number of women who feel the same. GO TRUMP!

The man is a reincarnated version of our Founding Fathers and any woman ‘of a certain age’ RECOGNIZE that, know where he stands and how much he loves this country. WHO ELSE would sacrifice blood, honor, gold? few could be found.

GO! TRUMP GO CRUZ! ~ YOU WIN OR WE LOSE!!

Riding his flying coat tails is so much fun and the excitement is almost too great for some

I think you have a very wrong take on Donald Trump, if you think he would ever enter into anything with the intension of losing. As early as 1988 Trump told Oprah Winfrey that he if ever ran for President: “I think I’d win. I’ll tell you what, I wouldn’t go in to lose. I’ve never gone in to lose in my life.” I’ve read up on Trump, and the conspiracy theory that you are suggesting goes against Trump’s fundamental nature to always strive to be a “winner.” He sees himself as king of the castle; that’s the way he is—not the second fiddle player or someone who would lie down for anyone.

As far as the GOP is concerned, we have a situation right now where a tiny segment of the party has run it like a tyranny for years now, while mostly ignoring the base that puts them in power. Even if Trump loses I think his destruction of the GOP establishment would still make him one of the greatest candidates of all time. If the base finally gets control of the party because primarily the way that he’s shaken things up, then frankly I think even one term of Hillary would be worth it. I think he stands a very good chance of winning though, so hopefully we can stamp out the GOPe and Hillary at the same time. I wouldn’t say he’s destroying the party, so much as saving it.

If I’m Trump, I don’t do any of these stupid debates. He doesn’t need them. It does give him another news cycle. I wonder what the rules are, if all GOP candidates must participate?
