Faraday deal result of long push by governor, N. Las Vegas leaders

Electric-car startup Faraday Future plans to open its $1 billion factory in North Las Vegas at the sparsely populated, 18,000-acre Apex Industrial Park, Chinese tech billionaire Jia Yueting said in a letter to Nevada legislators obtained by the Associated Press. The state has been in talks over the past few months to bring electric-car startup Faraday Future to North Las Vegas. Nevada was competing with California, Georgia and Louisiana.

California is too expensive.

Georgia and Louisiana are too far from Gardena CA headquarters.

Nevada makes perfect sense.

Nevada might become the New Detroit.

North Vegas and Detroit have much in common. I doubt the plant will be built, though, as the denizens of North Vegas will pick the construction site clean.

If they are receiving bribes, er, I mean, incentives to open this plant, then there is a good chance it will not go well. Subsidies hurt the recipients, too. Companies that are sheltered from the results of bad decisions continue to make bad decisions. They often fail.

They are not going to build the plant in Beverly Hills. That is why they have these guys.

I am 99% certain plant will get built.

Apex is 11 miles into the desert. Not a soul lives anywhere near there. No danger of being picked apart. Easy to secure that area and requires mechanized transport to reach.

No walkers.
