Tripwire Alert: New Hampshire – Trump Leads, Carson Has Collapsed, Cruz Rejected (splitters split)
Conservative Treehouse ^ | Dec 8 2015 | Sundance

Wow - Now we know why the GOPe is in full blown panic mode. The results from the latest WMUR/CNN Poll in New Hampshire (full pdf below) shows support for Ben Carson has fully collapsed, and Ted Cruz drops below John Kasich.... But it gets much, much worse for the establishment candidates.

The GOPe road map has totally collapsed in New Hampshire. All of the GOPe splitters are now left picking leftover scraps from those voters who are in the undecideds:

Trump has forced upon the GOPe the absolute nightmare scenario - "the splitters are splitting upon themselves". Rubio, Bush and Christie combined cannot beat Donald Trump's current level of support.

The millions spent by Team Kasich have garnered him a grand total of 7%; and the tens of millions spent by Jeb Bush only get him to 8%. The granite state electorate are fully engaged and they are seeing through the GOPe establishment schemes.

The New Hampshire voters are also seeing through the convenient flip-flops of Cruz and have identified the reality of Carson's inability.

DURHAM, N.H. --New York business executive Donald Trump not only continues to lead the Republican field, but his lead has grown significantly since late summer, with more likely primary voters than ever now saying they believe he will win the New Hampshire primary.

A new CNN/WMUR New Hampshire Primary Poll conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center also shows that Republican voters believe that by far, Trump stands the best chance among the GOP field to win the November 2016 general election and become president.

The poll, conducted from Nov. 30 to Dec. 7 among 402 likely Republican primary voters, also shows that in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks in Paris and San Bernadino, California, half of Republican primary voters consider foreign policy and national security the issue most important to their votes. It is far ahead of jobs and the economy, now at 18 percent, and immigration at 12 percent.

The poll also show that U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida has moved into second place, but still with less than half of amount of support enjoyed by Trump.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie appears to have received a slight bump from his endorsements by the New Hampshire Union Leader and past and current legislative leaders. He has moved into third place, but is still in single digits at 9 percent, up from 5 percent he received in the previous CNN/WMUR New Hampshire Primary poll in September.

Trump now leads the field with the support of 32 percent of likely primary voters, followed by Rubio at 14 percent, with Christie at 9 percent, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush at 8 percent, Ohio Gov. John Kasich at 7 percent, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas at 6 percent, and former business executive Carly Fiorina and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson each at 5 percent. (read more)

True. But never one who has led in every state and national race (with 2-3 exceptions) since JUNE.

"the splitters are splitting upon themselves".

Well put. Rubio seems to be the last gasp for the GOPe but it isn't enough.

Cruz is fine. NH is full of big-government northeastern liberals - Trump’s natural base. Trump will do well in Connecticutt and Mass too, I’m sure.

And Cruz is “positioned to win”? Positioned to drop out is more like it. Yes, I want Cruz out as the more I have read, the more I listen to him, the more I really hate the guy. Just unlike able and not caring enough to about things I care about and tired of is political doublespeak and hypocrisy.

Trump up 10 pts in SC.

Trump leads with 33% in NC.

I’m in TX and not even sure if Cruz can lead, here. I don’t know any friends/family who are supporting Cruz. I don’t see any Cruz bumper stickers along the highways and byways (and, we’re on the roads of TX a lot). Maybe this will change as the primaries get closer.

He’s not a die-hard conservative like Reagan, but he can circumvent the media like Reagan did. Probably even more so.

More so, because the Left has zero ability to define him. Everybody already knows and likes Trump from TV. For better or worse, people trust the familiar face of a TV star more than they trust the politician they only see on commercials once in a while. That's why RINO Arnold swept away Gray Davis in California with virtually no effort - and the CA GOP has accomplished exactly nothing since.

It doesn't say much about the future of our republic, but at least the "system" is working in favor of a nominal conservative, for once.

Trump is a phenomena, that is certain. I really think it is hilarious that the media has turned Presidential politics into reality television over the last 20 years, and now they have a genuine reality television star, who understands how to bypass the media because of his experience, playing their game better than they can. They are frustrated and panicked by it.

That said, Cruz is still my first choice, although I would gladly vote for Trump if he is the nominee.

Yes, you hate him so much that you lie about him every chance you get.

To you Cruz “introducing a bill” into the senate is somehow less concrete than Trump’s releasing a statement? That evaluation makes sense to you in your head?

I’ll be voting for Cruz come Feb 9th.
Don’t forget, NH Repubs are not like they were 30+ years ago. They are a squishy version now.

New Hampshire is definitely conservative country.

This is not true. NH has been flooded by Massholes that wrecked their commonwealth with high taxation and other liberal lunacy, and now aim at doing the same for New Hampshire.

I expect DJT would do well there.

Huh? After reading that I can understand why you feel Cruz is not speaking the same language as you.

The polls say far more about NH than they do about Cruz. I don’t think we ought to let deep blue states pick our champion, but then I am a christian constitutional conservative.

Cruz and Paul were ahead of Trump on stopping immigration of Muslims from countries with ISIS and Al Queda presence.
