Man Suing Museum for Exhibiting Paintings Depicting Jesus as White Because That’s Racist

A man is actually suing the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York for exhibiting masterpiece paintings of Jesus Christ because Jesus is white and blond in the paintings ” and that is racist.

Justin Renel Joseph has filed a lawsuit in the Manhattan Supreme Court alleging that the Civil Rights Act of 1964 demands that the four paintings be removed, according to an article in New York Post.

"They completely changed his race to make him more aesthetically pleasing for white people," he told the Post. "I'm suing a public venue which by the Civil Rights Act of 1964 can't discriminate on a protected basis."

Joseph said that seeing a white Jesus in Ricci's "The Holy Family with Angels," Perugino's "The Resurrection," Tintoretto's "The Miracle of the Loaves and Fishes" and Granacci's "The Crucifixion" caused him "personal stress."

The stress was especially severe, Joseph said, because Jesus had "black hair like wool and skin of bronze color" and he also has "black hair like wool and skin of bronze color."

"The implication that someone who possesses physical features like the plaintiff could not be the important historical and public figure of Jesus Christ . . . caused the plaintiff to feel, among other things, rejected and unaccepted by society," court papers say.

According to Joseph, who is acting as his own lawyer, the paintings are "offensive aesthetic whitewashing" and their display in the museum is "an extreme case of discrimination." Apparently, he does not believe that the fact that the artwork is culturally and historically important is any reason display it in a museum where people go to see culturally and historically important artwork.

Seems pretty convincing to me ” but Met spokeswoman Elyse Topalian, (who just must not know quite as much about art as Joseph does,) disagreed:

"When they were painted, it was typical for artists to depict subjects with the same identity as the local audience," Topalian said, according to The Post. "This phenomenon occurs in many other cultures, as well."

Alrighty then, since we must be factually correct as far as possible regarding race, I’m suing the next time I see a commercial for a home security system in which the home invaders are portrayed as white, since statistically they’re much more likely to be black. Same with depictions of rapists.

I wonder - If they had seen this lawsuit as the result of their actions, would congressmen / senators who passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 still have passed it? Or would they have said “we cannot enable such insanity”?

They’re dead ducks . . .

Yep. Darwin and Planned Parenthood would be okay with that. As leftists continue working to destroy freedom, I'm getting more and more okay with that too. They are pro-choice, and if they choose to be so fragile and delicate that they cannot survive, who am I to interfere with their freedom?

Jesus came from the tribe of Judah. He was not Caucasian, he was Jewish.

There are four races:

Negroid
Caucasoid
Mongoloid
South Seas Islanders

Which race does he think Jesus is?

The lineage of Jesus is not a trivial fact. His lineage is from the Royal line of David and that lineage has prophetic importance. When He returns, He will be a king because he inherits David’s throne over all Israel, that is over all the tribes.

Luke 1:32:

He shall be great and shall be called the Son of the Highest. And the Lord God shall give Him the throne of His father David.

Mark 11:10:

Blessed is the kingdom of our father David, who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!

It is an excellent question to ask where are the 13 tribes of Israel today. We know where one is, that is Judah. But where are the rest. They are somewhere on earth at this very moment, and indeed it is prophesied that they will be under attack at the end of the age.

New Yorkers are mixed up. They call their trial court the “Supreme Court”.

This time of the year Baby Jesus is usually played by a GE 100 watt light bulb.
Of course, incandescent bulbs are now verboten. sigh
This is supposed to be a happy occasion. Let’s not bicker and argue over who killed who ....

And if you depict the prophet of a certain religion you will be killed.

Imagine the storm of feces if a black man was shown crucified.

He was not Caucasian, he was Jewish.

The ancestors of the Judaeans (the Aramaeans) were a Caucasian people.

They were not from Africa, or from South or East Asia.

Please, this has 1st amendment written all over it. It’s called “art”. If a crucifix upside down in a jar of urine is ok, along with offensive gangsta rap, etc. then there’s no case here.

That said, in our PC culture and the way judges legislate from the bench when it suits them, who knows? Although a PC ruling would have many implications.

I’ll bet the journalist meant ‘Superior Court’ instead of ‘Supreme Court’.

How would he know? The Bible provides no physical description of Jesus.

I wonder if he’s only upset when artwork depicts White folks or if he would also be upset if Jesus were depicted as Black - hell of a trick for Mary to pull off having descended from David’s lineage...Of course, God could have managed it but there would likely be a blurb or two in some of the documents...
