It’s time for Republicans to renounce Donald Trump’s candidacy
The Washington Post ^ | December 8, 2015 | The Editorial Board

Posted on 12/08/2015 6:00:20 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

MOST CANDIDATES for the Republican presidential nomination, with an understanding of constitutional, democratic and social norms that Donald J. Trump utterly lacks, have denounced his outrageous call for a “total and complete shutdown” on Muslims entering the United States.

It is heartening that Mr. Trump’s opponents are finally condemning him in terms they would generally reserve for Democrats, but it also raises a critical question: If the GOP front-runner’s pronouncements are as lunatic and offensive as his rivals say — and they are — isn’t it incumbent on them to make clear they would oppose him if he were the party’s nominee?

The prospect of an open Republican split may send tremors down the spines of party strategists. They naturally fear an internecine war, a fractured party and maybe an independent Trump candidacy. But even those outcomes would cause less damage to their party and to the nation than uniting behind a candidate whose policies and rhetoric are morally, legally and pragmatically unconscionable — as they have now recognized....

I am a Cruz guy...

If I could pick the next president, it would be Ted Cruz. But if I could pick the next Republican presidential nominee, it would be Donald Trump. Trump would kick Hillary's butt. Cruz vs Hillary, I'm not so sure.

If you take advise from your enemies, you deserve whatever happens to you. The editorial board of this newspaper does not have the well-being of the Republican Party uppermost in it’s minds.>>>
this newspaper does not have the well-being of the american people at heart.

I rebuke Donald Trump. He is no true Republican. I condemn him. I condemn him. I condemn him.

Now, with that out of he way, I support him and think he’s alright.

Works for Muslims.

"MOST CANDIDATES for the Republican presidential nomination, with an understanding of constitutional, democratic and social norms that Donald J. Trump utterly lacks, . . ."

Noting that I will vote for Trump if Republican nominee, please consider the following.

I agree with the Washington post about Trump being a constitutionally low-information candidate. However, I will add that all Washington cartel presidential candidates, Democrats, Republicans and Independents alike, are likewise low-information candidates. Either that or thay are blatantly ignoring the feds constitutionally limited powers.

The reason that I would vote for Trump is that he is a quick study-type person that would likely accept the reality of the federal governments constitutionally limited powers faster than any of them.

Ha! You’re not kidding! Our local newspaper has been taken
over fairly recently by evidently some slow “journalists”.
Not only slow, but deceitful! - They’ve done some
cartoons of late ridiculing us - their readers - for not
wanting this WILD-EYED, gates wide open, Obama immigration
policy. In one cartoon, they flatly stated that the
majority of the mass shootings had been done by mostly
WHITE guys. - In a letter to the editor, a local resident
corrected their lie. Out of the numerous attacks, ONE of
them was done by a mentally ill white guy who not only
was not a Christian, he was not actually “attacking a
valiant Planned Parenthood” slaughterhouse! The rest of the
attacks had been perpetrated by blacks and Jihadists.

How about denouncing Hilary for threatening a woman her husband raped?

Or Obama for bringing in tens of thousands of illegal kids and dispersing them around the country to other illegals?

Maybe for abandoning our people in Benghazi and lying about it?

Go straight to hell Washington Post.

Go Trump!

“It’s time for Republicans to renounce Donald Trump’s candidacy”

Well, naturally WaPo would love to see the GOP tear itself to pieces. Should the GOP “renounce” Trump, their leading candidate, WaPo could then demand renunciation of Cruz and on down the line until only Yeb “The Joyful Tippy Toe Tortoise” Bush remains, at which point the GOP rank and file will stay home in disgust, refusing to vote for another “lesser evil” who’s even more feckless than McCain or Romney, thereby guaranteeing a landslide win for the lying, corrupt traitor hag, Hillary.

Nor, I would venture to say, the well-being of the United States of America.

The electoral college is made up of real people picked by the party of the winning candidate in each state. The electors actually are free to vote for anyone they want, including abandoning the party's nominee, if they can stand the political heat which would follow.
