Ted Cruz: ‘I do not agree’ with Trump’s Muslim moratorium

GOP presidential contender Ted Cruz said Tuesday that he disagrees with rival Donald J. Trump's plan to ban Muslims from coming into the United States until the federal government can ensure that those coming into the nation do not pose a threat to the country.

"I do not agree with his proposal," the Texas senator said at a press conference on Capitol Hill. “I do not think it is the right solution.”

Mr. Cruz said that some have encouraged him to criticize Mr. Trump, but said he will not to so. Instead, he said he is pushing solutions aimed at putting a three year moratorium on refugees from Syria and Iraq, and giving governors more power to stop refugees from being resettled in their states.

Mr. Trump has tangled with most of the candidates in the GOP field ..with the exception of Mr. Cruz .. though he warned at a rally in South Carolina that he will respond in kind if Mr. Cruz attacks him.

I am a gung-ho Cruz supporter, but on Muslim immigration, it is non-negotiable. I said on 9-12-01 that all muslims in America on work visas, college waivers, vacations or as ambassadors, needed to go home. If they are not citizens, goodbye Yazdi. My opinion has only gotten stronger. Islam is not a religion, it is a philosophy of domination, like Communism, Socialism or Nazism. It is not like importing our destruction, it absolutely IS importing the abolition of Liberty.

I trust both Ted Cruz and Donald Trump to keep America safe ...

However, if I were president, I would (if legally allowed) prohibit ALL Muslims entry into the United States, visitors, tourists, students, H1B ... for a period of six months.

During that time I would develop a “Moslem-specific” entry-criteria ...

just as I would develop a former “Nazi-specific” entry requirement ...

would Moslems be offended ? Yep. and I don’t care, as long as “any” Moslem wants to replace the U.S. Constitution destroyed to implement Sharia Law ...

Ummm, more than a philosophy.

A philosophy is about the ideas of men who still intend to run their own lives. They are still, in some sense, free. Less free than believers in Jesus, but still in some sense free.

A religion is (when followed honestly — there are philosophy systems that call themselves religions) about a deity that inspires you.

• Are all religions equal?
• Can a person be born into a religion?
• Is a person responsible for his religion?
• If a person comes from a state where conversion from the state religion is a crime (sometimes capital) is it wise to allow that person to carry that law/policy/belief into the United States?
• If the Trump Doctrine was implemented (or even debated) will it alter the operational tempo of terrorists?
