Louisiana: Governor-elect Edwards selects RINO Dardenne to lead state government (quid pro quo)

Gov.-elect John Bel Edwards is expected to name Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne as his top state government administrator and chief budget officer Monday afternoon (Dec. 7), according to three sources -- two who are close to Dardenne and another who is a leader in state government. The move could be interpreted as Edwards' first substantial commitment to a bipartisan cabinet.

Edwards, a Democrat, has picked Dardenne, a Republican who ran against him in the gubernatorial primary, for arguably the most important and high-profile job in the state government next to his own. As Louisiana's commissioner of administration, Dardenne will be in charge of running day-to-day operations of government and putting together solutions to the state budget problems for Edwards.

A reward for sore-loser Dardenne, who endorsed Democrat Edwards in the November 21 gubernatorial runoff against GOP Senator David Vitter.

Add me to the ping list.

This was an easy win for Republicans. Vitter hid in the primary and didn’t get past the issue. Terribly run campaign.

Terribly run campaign.

What little there was of it.

Still wondering what the hell Vitter was doing, was really a half-a$$ed effort at best.

Vitter’s concession speech was where he should have started. He was humble, open, direct. Do that in the primary. Get it out of the way.

Then by the general it’s old news and personal.

Vitter didn’t put forward specific positive plans. It was all mudslinging in the primary and more of the same in the general. Was a horribly run campaign.

Overconfidence on Vitter’s part? The results of the primary should have been an obvious wake-up call.

Jindal and company cut Vitter up in the primary. They would rather see Edwards as Governor instead of Vitter. Much the same as many RINOs nationally would rather Hillary than Trump.

And the liberal/socialist machine begins. I hope everyone “holier than thou” who sat out this one because of Vitter gets to see what you get when your overlook redemption and settle for a socialist. We got a president the same stupid way!!!! The only problem with elections is that I always have to suffer the consequences of stupidity! But, we have colleges in NOLA that are just as liberal as up North. Mind bending.
