EXCLUSIVE - A $28,500 deposit was made to Syed Farook’s bank account from WebBank.com on Nov.18, some two weeks before he and his wife Tashfeen Malik carried out the San Bernardino massacre, a source close to the investigation told Fox News Monday. Investigators are exploring whether the transaction was a loan taken out by Farook, who with his wife killed 14 and wounded 21 when they opened fire at a holiday lunch. He earned $53,000 a year with the county as an environmental health inspector. On its website, the Utah-headquartered WebBank.com describes itself as “a leading provider of national consumer and commercial

It is HIGHLY likely there was an ISIS sleeper cell used in this operation. In any sane world, about 10-15 of Farook’s closest associates would all be in interrogation and their homes and places of business being torn apart.

Marquez needed the extra to skip town or check himself into a mental facility to avoid questions?

The peer to peer lender Prosper uses Web Bank as well as a lot of stores to extend credit.

They are a Utah industrial bank that have been in business for quite a while and are legit.

He may have got a Prosper loan to self fund or have a last fling..

WebBank does peer to peer lending so if I’m reading this correctly there had to be a 3rd party involved with this loan.

He used ARs. Ban ARs
He used cash. More cash restrictions.
He was offended by Christians. Ban Christmas parties.
He made the case for a backlash against Muslims. Ban anti-Muslim speech.

The 0bama regime is milking this one for everything they can get. I guess those drills paid off.

Gee I wonder where that money came from? Well the FBI did not even bother to fingerprint the perps apt. so you tell me. Did they already know who all the members of the sleeper cell were? Worse, were they running the cell? Oh no that could never happen.

Interesting. Article suggests that it's not "financial institution, further suggesting it doesn't hold deposits in the traditional sense. A conduit.

Seems ideal for the budding terrorist.

I thought every deposit over $5,000 was investigated by the feds immediately....am I wrong?

Cash transactions over $10 000 are REPORTED immediately.

I very much doubt that they are investigated anything like immediately, and most of them are probably never investigated at all.

Could have been a loan withdrawal from his 401-K..Maybe he was going to buy a new car?

Or his credit card co. gave him a $30,000 line that he took and had it deposited.

Citi Bank is always sending me mail telling me I have a $30,000 line and attaches several blank checks on Citi Bank.

I suppose I could fill out one of those checks and deposit it in my bank, and when it clears withdraw some or all of the money for paying bills or personal use.
Of course I would have to repay it with interest eventually.

But if I had nefarious plans I wouldn't be worried about repayment. -Tom

If the bank shows a deposit, they know the source of the money.

When are they going to tell us?

WebBank is an FDIC-insured, state-chartered industrial bank headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was organized under the laws of the State of Utah in 1997 and operates under federal banking law. Through its industrial bank charter, WebBank partners with companies to provide niche financing to businesses and consumers. The charter allows us to offer financing solutions on a nationwide platform for consumer and commercial private-label products and services for our clients.

We engage in a full range of banking activities including making loans, issuing credit cards, and taking deposits that are federally insured.

Fairly small - about a quarter of a billion in assets.
Looks to be well capitalized.
