“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof” ... I don’t see how Congress can prohibit entry based solely on religion.
Congress can prohibit individuals from entering the country from another country. Congress doesn’t have to screen for religion, it can just order that all immigration from a list of countries be shut down.
Forbidding muslims from entering the country is not the same as prohibiting them from freely exercising their gutter religion. They are still free to practice it freely where ever they are.
That applies to U.S. citizens. Our Constitution doesn’t apply to every Tom, Dick, Harry, Mahmoud, and Osama who want to come here. All we have to say is, “Nope, sorry, you can’t come in!” If they ask why, then we simply tell them the truth, “Because we control entry into our own country, and you simply didn’t make the cut. Have a nice day.”
How about prohibiting entry based on forbidden practices of a religion. Like suicide bombing and beheading and polygamy ? The government has interfered with other religions based on ILLEGAL practices.
Islam has Sharia, which is law, their law, not our law, but a law that is wholly Unconstitutional .
