Pittsburgh Police, Islamic Center announce new, collaborative agreement

PITTSBURGH —A press conference was held Saturday to announce a new collaborative agreement between the Pittsburgh Police and the Islamic Center of Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh Police Chief Cameron McLay and Islamic Center Executive Director Wasi Mohamed spoke at the Islamic Center. The press conference came days after police arrested Anthony Mohamed at his Hazelwood home in connection with a Thanksgiving Day shooting of a Muslim taxi driver.

The FBI, in conjunction with Pittsburgh Police, was reviewing the case after the Muslim civil rights group asked the Justice Department to determine if it was a hate crime. Saturday night, Chief Cam McLay said the investigation is ongoing and it's still too early to say whether or not it was, in fact, a hate crime.

The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police said in a release, “Islamophic or racially motivated violence has no place in our City.”

Chief McLay told those at the press conference there's a lot he needs to learn, but he's committed to improving relations with Pittsburgh's Islamic community.

"I had not yet forged the relationship such that when there was fear within the Muslim community, my community partners felt comfortable enough to reach out to me and express that concern," McLay said.

Mohamed says members of the Muslim community have experienced a rise in threats, and the Islamic Center reports as many of them as possible.

So when progressives run a city & its cops we get a set of different standards for non-Muslims. Sharia anyone? Basically, this throws "see something say something" entirey out the window, and if a legally armed citizen shoots a Muzzie in self defense, they're now going to be charged with a hate crime?

I also wonder how willing the Islamic Center of Pittsburgh will be to report "radicals" to the authorities?

What a joke. Cameron McLay & mayor Peduto have had a war on our cops for a long time....this is just another assault against them

A guy named Mohamed shoots a Muslim and somehow it’s a hate crime?

‘I also wonder how willing the Islamic Center of Pittsburgh will be to report “radicals” to the authorities?’

Has there been a single case of this happening? Just one? Anywhere?

I doubt it.

Indeed. The ‘collaborative agreement’ will run as far as pursuing anyone who dares to say something about or do something to any muslim, or about Islam. But it will not cover anything to do with some ‘radical’ muslim about to act out, who are naturally exempt as they are true ‘freedom fighters’ - a misnomer if there ever was one.

“See something say something” only applies to non-muslims who criticize muslims.

There will be no reports to the authorities about any ‘radical’, as a ‘radical’ is just a ‘peaceful’ or ‘moderate’ muslim who has been activated.

Similar to the new ruling that schools can’t send black students to detention or expel them. Special rules for special people.

Do something about this:

Shock Poll: 51% of U.S. Muslims Want Sharia; 25% Okay with Violence Against Americans

Or STFU.

Which HALF of your muslims support the Seditious Overthrow of the U.S. Constitution?

Which QUARTER of your muslims support murdering Americans for their Death Cult?
