The World Trade Organization ruled Monday that Canada and Mexico can slap more than $1 billion in tariffs on U.S. goods in retaliation for meat labeling rules it says discriminated against Mexican and Canadian livestock.

At issue were U.S. labels on packaged steaks and other cuts of meat that say where the animals were born, raised and slaughtered.

Brilliant! That way with the next outbreak of e.coli or mad-cow disease we’ll have no way of tracing the problem back to the country of origin. Silly me thinking the Consumer Protection Agency might be concerned with protecting the consumer.

Government made those rules, it cost a lot of money to implement and now they are being sued.
Popcorn time.

Who gave the right to collect a billion from US taxpayers without our consent?

Isn’t that “taxation without representation”?

Can we appeal the verdict, or vote on it?

Where was our Senate when they approved this deal?

(never mind...)

Maybe we should just label our beef and any other product with a regional name like France does. I dare anyone from the One World Order to claim the name of Roquefort or Camembert or Champagne, or Limoges Porcelain, etc.

We should simply ignore it and not pay one thin dime. Shut off the milking machine to the UN First on the list.

That’s because the stuff that ain’t labeled sits on the shelf. If I don’t know where it came from I don’t eat it. We are now shopping mostly at Aldi’s where the majority of the food is made in the US, Germany or Canada. All acceptable to us.

We do not put anything in our mouth that might even have possibly come from China.
