Note no full-force retaliation like France, no mosque raids, no house-to-house searches. Sure that wouldn’t fly here but we don’t even get a President who says it has to stop.
Unless someone reforms islam, they will continue to be applied until the entire world worship the islamic allah.
There are no corresponding operative principles in any other religion.
I think the Facebook poster might have been trying to confuse infidels as to the true nature of islam.
Wake up Obama and quit lying. You are despicable, deranged and destructive person.
My response was that Jesus did not tell people to kill people. Mohammed did. That’s about as deep as one can get on Facebook. It’s all about soundbites.
ISIS - just doing what they must to heed the highest calling in Islam - to follow in the footsteps of its founder, mohammad, the mass murder.
Most Westerners don't about the principle of "abrogation" in the Koran. Later verses abrogated (replaced) earlier, more peaceful ones.
Check this out...Abrogated Verses in the Koran
Taqiyya. Obama’s specialty.
Re: “Iâve had it pushed back that the OT has similar phrases. Iâve read it three times through and parts of it many other times and never seen that. There are violent places where God tells the Israelites to kill every man, woman, and child and all the animals.”
RoosterRedux answered your question pretty well, but the whole issue of Israel being told by God to destroy certain groups of people in OT times was because of specific judgement for specified acts of sin by these peoples - it wasn’t just to acquire land. Also, the judgement came after literally hundreds of years of warning by God to these peoples to repent or else.
In fact, God told the nation of Israel that if they started committing the same acts of sin as these peoples they were destroying before them, that He would do the same thing to them. So, my point is, it was about judgement. And, God has the right, as Creator, to judge the actions of His creation.
As you already pointed out to someone else, there are no such commands to kill unbelievers in Jesus found in the NT, not by Jesus or any of the apostles. When so-called Christians did atrocities in Jesus’ Name, they did so in either complete ignorance or in disregard of His clear teachings to love one’s enemies.
As to whether or not the Koran is misused by ISIL or other Islamic groups, I just don’t know. I hear some Muslims claim that the Koran is taken out of context, then I hear others say that it clearly teaches the continued killing of all infidels.
I just think we shouldn’t be importing hundreds of thousands of people whom we have no idea of their true intentions or designs - particularly from countries whose religious world view has been opposed to the Christian or Western view of political freedom and the value of human life, for centuries.
There is only one Islam, and its holy book is a totalitarian ideology that mandates world domination.
