Some will recall their was a briefly successful revolution against Chavez in the first few months of Bush 2’s first term. IIRC it was reported here, then, that the opposition asked Bush’s State department for permission to permanently dispose of Chavez, which was richly deserved and historically sound policy. Bush refused to support that and Chavez’s supporters came to his rescue. If the opposition actually can briefly obtain control (winning 2/3 of the vote ≠ tallying 2/3 of the vote) I hope they remember this. Obama would certainly give the same answer as Bush, if asked, but if the opposition is smart they’ll realize how toothless he is at defending any of his red lines. Better yet, don’t ask him, just do what’s needed.

This is kind of like what happened when the GOP won the Senate.

Nothing will change.

The opposition has no guns so they can take their “victory” and stick where the sun don’t shine.

It doesn’t matter what the opposition says and even if it is true, the current dictator will invalidate the results.
