I donât disagree with that, but when the group is addressed as ISIS at a 10 to 1 rate of ISIL, he needs to get up to speed on the proper terminology.
Is there a reason this matters? As far as I can tell this is a semantic argument with little real importance.

I believe it does matter. He is trying to confuse people by using a name most folks don’t use. It takes the heat off of ISIS, which everyone knows is who was affiliated with these problems.
His supporters see it as him being right and everyone else being wrong. They think there is such a thing as a group called ISIL that is different than ISIS.
He needs to stay on the same page with everyone else.
This guy won’t miss a trick to muddy the waters. We shouldn’t let him get away with it.
And I do find it interesting that he defers to a name used in the Middle East rather than the one used in the West.
