President Obama addresses the nation on the San Bernardino mass shooting, in which 14 people were killed and 21 others injured, and the threat of terrorism now that the FBI considers the gun attack "an act of terrorism."
And the message is?
This was a great American. I’m surprised that he wasn’t on FR.
I think is was a question.
Ok. Thanks.
But only the black lives matter.
“Well, I couldn’t stand to watch it, but I left a couple of mid-range decibel farts while reading the thread, just enough to demonstrate team spirit”
Yep, I won’t give the MOFO the time of day let alone help his Nielson ratings. I switched to a rerun of the Closer when jug ears came on.
I wonder if they will release the ratings for his little you-must-love-Muslims speech. I’ll bet they will be embarrassing.
Good morning, J! Hope you’re doing well.
Yeah, too bad about presidents with law degrees like Lincoln, John Adams and Nixon (who on foreign policy was touted to be one of our best).
And too bad about Reagan who had zero business experience and was an actor.
Lots of “great” businessmen have been in the WH: Hoover, Carter, and Teddy Roosevelt, a Republican who promoted progressivism.
Men from all careers and walks of life have been in the WH with varying degrees of success and failure. To say that someone will be a fine president because of his business career is illogical.
Trump might or might not be a good president. He is murky on some of his positions and we have no record of votes to look at. He is a born again Conservative and there is a lot of faith placed in him that may or may not be deserved.
Should mention G.W. Bush had a masters degree in business, was in oil, and owned a sports team. He made some bonehead decisions as president.
Really curious as to why he chose to put the podium in front of it. Love to know the psychology behind that decision.
It has to be the teleprompter thing. Sitting makes him looks smaller, if that’s possible, so it probably came down to the PR thing where everyone gives their opinion.
The difference between this man and the field of republicans is staggering. Trump and Cruz have raised the bar whereby no one will ever think of using teleprompters again in from of an audience. Those days are over.
Obama couldn’t come up with a genuine thought or feeling if he tried. Everything is contrived. Everything is rehearsed.
Hillary is probably worse. She’s a terrible campaigner.
Teleprompter? (I didn’t watch, so that may not make sense.)
Comparing Bush to Trump is like comparing a chef at a 2 star restaurant to a master chef at a 5 star.
Trump speaks, and I find myself listening.
“Obama has placed muslims high up in all branches of his government. Muslims linked to terror groups, which is a massive security risk or flat out treason.”
Allow me to correct this almost perfect sentence, it should read as follows.
Obama has placed muslims high up in all branches of his government. Muslims linked to terror groups, which is a massive security risk AND flat out treason.
I think Obama was actually at the Lincoln Center where he was going to attend a party after the speech.
I believe the podium was there, but they inserted a photo of the Oval office as the backdrop.
I think Cruz someday will make a great president. He’s too young. Sorry. Like Nixon he needs to be under the tutelage of someone like Trump.
We can try and find similarities between the present and the past. Doesn’t work that way. Sometimes it’s the times make the person.
Obama squandered the greatest opportunity to unite the USA and the world, instead he ends up being an empty chair that proves we can put someone in that office for 8 years, and still come out of it okay, eventually. We have another 8 years like the last, then our society is over.
Trump remembers the good years of our country. THe before Kennedy killing. He was influenced by people who were in the second world war, who knew people from the first, and maybe our civil war.
I like Cruz a lot. He’s by far the second best in the field, but he puts me to sleep compared to the energy Trump has.
My brother thinks the guy who can debate the best should be president. How about the guy who can persuade the best, who knows he’s right and goes with it.
Trump is batting pretty close to 1000 with me.
BTW, I don’t really disagree with you.
He’s getting desperate, he may give the next one hanging upside down in a straitjacket, just to try to get someone to watch.
