News flash. The Donald is not a “conservative” in the accepted sense. Libertarian, perhaps, and with a broad streak of populism, but conservative, no.

Even for all that, what The Donald says still resonates strongly with those who consider themselves to be, in every way, conservative, if only because when The Donald speaks, Political Correctness flies right out the window.

Still, taking the Establishment Republicans by the throat and shaking them like a rag doll has to be pretty satisfying for the conservatives whom the Establishment has kicked like a cur dog for generations now.

Thanks for your thoughts. Today I explained Tump as a national populist and not a conservative while discussing the topic. Don’t get me wrong everyone, I will take that over an international socialist any day. I do expect that we call it what it is. I may vote for him in the primary or I may not but when AL votes it’s kind of a busy day and I will vote for who I think will win.
