Donald Trump, defying skeptics and overcoming an avalanche of mockery from establishment Republicans, has extended his streak as the party's presidential frontrunner for almost five months.
With the Iowa caucuses less than two months away, Republican leaders are growing deeply alarmed by Trump's resilience. Anxious that his lead may not fade before the voting starts, GOP strategists have begun to brace for a long and painful nomination fight, with Trump's opponents hoping to grind him down over a period of months.
In a new CNN/ORC poll released Friday, Trump leads the GOP field of White House hopefuls at 36% -- his broadest support this cycle. In a distant second place is Ted Cruz at 16%, giving Trump his widest lead this year, followed by Ben Carson at 14% and Marco Rubio at 12%. Just two days before, a Quinnipiac University poll showed Trump on top at 27%, followed by Rubio at 17% and Carson and Cruz tied at 16%.

Republicans brace for long battle against Donald Trump
They don't have teeth.
So the GOP is once again going against the will of the American people. They have the balls and will to fight thier own but they cant fight the cancer running this country. WHAT DOES THIS SAY ABOUT THE GOP? They were finish in 2014 when we elected them to fight this imposter and his law breaking and they teamed up with them and played golf, nice! Dont let the door hit you in the a##
Now That's a Plan!
“They have a LOT to worry about.....I just converted another Millennial to vote for Trump tonight and I promise all of you that he shanât be the last one ! :-)””
You think that’s a coup, get this. I had an office visit a few days ago, and by the end of the visit I had convinced MY DOCTOR to vote for Trump. We talked a whole lot of politics and not that much about what ails me, lol, but that was less important than winning a Trump convert.
I wore my Trump hat to his office which is what got the ball rolling. Now get this. As the visit was ending, Doc left the room for a minute and came back in wearing his own cap. He told me to read it. So I read the date that was on it: 1-20-16, and under that it said: Obama’s Last Day In Office. I love my Doc.
“It baffles me to this day that some of you see the Reagan platform Trump is hawking as Liberal.
In what freaking universe is Reaganâs platform Liberal?
Cut Taxes
Build up the Military
Cut Government spending
Get the budget under control
Secure our borders
Cut Government Departments
Pay down the debt
Jobs, jobs, jobs...
Increase government revenues with an expanding workforce
Gut Liberalism
Defund Planned Parenthood
Take care of veterans
Whereâs the Liberalism in this?
For crying out loud folks, wake up and smell the roses.”
EXCELLENT. It bears repeating, so I just did above, lol.
“It’s like an echo chamber”
Cruz and Carson are trying to outdo each other in parroting Trump. Both are using virtually identical Trump wording. It’s almost laughable. Where are copyright laws when you need them?
Trump is no doubt flattered by their imitations :)
He’ll likely use this, too, to his advantage :)
The eGOP is battling Trump, but not Republicans. We like the guy.
With a panicked worried look.
I think there are a great many “1-20-16er” amongst the nation’s people. Even some of those that voted for it are feeling the same way about now.
= :^)
= ^) < too many FReepers
You deserve a star!
We need to keep up this good work ! :-)
Thanks ! :-)
“I’ve stumped for Trump with my dentist ( who is a GOP voter ) and all of the girls, so that’s a whole office I got on board too.”
Oh dear, now I’ve got to play catchup with you again. Pretty soon we’ll have the whole medical field voting for Trump, lol. My next doctor’s visit after Christmas is to the dermatologist, and I’ll be wearing my Trump hat again, so watch out, I may catch up. It’s a big office with lots of staff, and there’s also the Quest Diagnostics clinic for blood tests soon too. The medical world is our to be Trumped oyster. So many opportunities, and still so much time.
Now if ONLY we can get everyone else to do this too, where they live, we should get Trump the nomination easily.
“Now if ONLY we can get everyone else to do this too, where they live, we should get Trump the nomination easily.”
Hopefully, we have planted a seed in the minds of all who have read our back and forth here, and as most everyone ends up going to a doctor’s office of one sort or another, they should talk up voting for Trump. Having a Trump hat on is a real conversation starter. Just sayin...
