San Bernardino shooter Syed Rizwan Farook was in touch over the phone and via social media with more than one international terrorism subject who the FBI were already investigating, law enforcement officials said.

It seemed clear yesterday that the authorities knew these people and had an idea they did it early on. The actions of the police support that.

Farook was mentioned early in in the police chatter and his name was posted here very early on in the live thread.

BTW, I agree with a comment you made on another thread that yesterday they may have decided to go Jihad earlier than planned when they got mad about something at the Christmas party, but they had been planning an attack for some time, this had their IED’s and guns and body armor etc... All ready to go.

So the FBI was already investigating a terrorism suspect over seas, but they didn't know about or bother investigating the US citizen who was talking to him?

Remember the big issue about the bulk collection of telephone metadata, and how making the NSA go to the phone companies with a warrant was going to make us vulnerable to a terrorist attack? Well, this is a guy who recently went to Saudi Arabia and was in communication with a suspected terrorist overseas that the FBI was already watching while the NSA was still collecting all of the metadata, and they missed it. So somebody tell me again how allowing the government collect data on all US citizens is going to keep us safe from terrorism?

I’m absolutely disgusted that the authorities use the term that these people suddenly get “radicalized”, they are programmed from birth!... Dial a Terrorist/Suicide Bomber is just a matter of a phone call away. When “the call of Islamic duty” comes they will act.
