> Under the language in the new law, introduced by Rep. Frank LoBiondo (R., N.J.) and Sen. Claire McCaskill (D., Mo.), all military working dogs will be guaranteed a ride home on military aircraft and their handlers will be allowed to adopt them before anyone else.<<

A rare example where bipartisanship produced something good.

Why, pray tell, should it be up to the U.S. Government to pay benefits to livestock? I understand the situation, but geez, doesn’t this seem to be something that should be a private donation function? The government just keeps saying they’ll pay for more and more and more but not for keeping the troops in the field, but for pet adoption. I don’t get it.

I was so happy to read about this. They are so loyal and love their handlers with the greatest love (as do most dogs).

Now, this kind of “refugee” I support.

Those dogs wouldn’t last a day if they were let loose in the sand countries.

Finally. There was no excuse on the military’s part for at least bringing them home to enjoy a retirement, even if only in an American home.
