Donald Trump has become such a force in the Republican Party that the official overseeing next year's Senate races has proposed a delicate strategy for GOP candidates: tap into Trumpism without mimicking Trump.
In a seven-page, confidential memo that imagines Trump as the party's nominee, the head of the National Republican Senatorial Committee urges candidates to adopt many of Trump's tactics, issues and approaches -- right down to adjusting the way they dress and how they use Twitter.
In the memo on the "Trump phenomenon," NRSC executive director Ward Baker said Republicans should embrace his tough talk about China and "grab onto the best elements of [his] anti-Washington populist agenda." Above all, they should appeal to voters as genuine and beyond the influence of special interests.

EXACTLY, BFAM
TRUMP has this capacity in his heart, being the first to incorporate those claims. The others who might wish to follow suit would only appear to be ‘the Jokers’ THE TRUMP is THE TRUMP and NOT a Xerox copy and, after so many copies...the ink begins to fade with each additional copy
Are you aware that Obama and all the power and money his government controls has every possible dirt merchant busy 24/7?
The entire premise of an "October Surprise" is to wait until it's too late to do anything about it.
Once more, I AM NOT claiming that there is any dirt on Trump. What I am saying is that the left would love to keep the dirt under wraps until it's too late to do anything about it.
I'm amazed at how many people don't know that.
It's the same people that try to fry frozen turkeys.
Derp.
I have reservations about Cruz just as you have reservations about Trump.
C’mon Jane, Cruz doesn’t have to “mimick” Trump, they agree on plenty of issues and that’s why we don’t see them sniping at each other.
One of the things making Trump a success is his pulling back the curtain of political correctness. He calls the shots as he sees them. It is driving the liberals nuts.
Good one!
Gummer’s mom kicked him out of the house. He needs intervention ...
OMG!! We were just talking last Thursday about a Marine I worked with (he is actually pictured, blindfolded, in Newsweek as one of the Marine Guards from the Iranian Hostage situation). He knew I fried a turkey every year and said he wanted to try one. He asked me how do you do it? I explained you put the oil up to 400-425 degrees, make sure the turkey is dry, use a broom stick or rake handle in the hanger and SLOWLY lower the bird into the boiling oil for 20-25 mins. He followed ALL my orders. I neglected to tell him to thaw the bird before wiping it dry. He could not understand why the oil blew up.
He wrote this. Even using language like the "Washington Ruling Class" makes him sound like a blood-brother of Cruz and Trump:
"Trump has been gaining Democrat adherents and he's solidifying GOP cohorts who feel they've been totally ignored by the Washington Ruling Class," Baker writes. "If the environment aligns properly, Trump could win. It's not a bet most would place now, but it could happen."
Well that’s encouraging, I would employ the Reaganism, “trust but verify”. Thanks for the additional data.
The memo suggested Senators distance themselves from Trump’s wacky statements. It gave the example telling voters that the candidates’ wives and daughters are upset with the things Trump says about women...
Any Senator wannabes who follows this stupid advice (assuming Trump is the nominee) will cook their own goose by exposing themselves as p.c. anti-Trump uniparty boobs.
They better learn the lesson to stop apologizing to the left for everything a get a bit clever on their feet.
I personally witnessed a former neighbor in Florida (before I moved back here to West-By-God-Virginia) try frying a frozen turkey, and fortunately he only burned down his garage which was detached from his house, and that convinced me I would stick with the traditional way of cooking turkeys.
Mom never tried deep frying a turkey, and that’s good enough for me. lol
Yeah, I will add that he doesn’t seem to be on board with the border wall in the memo. But it’s a pretty fair view of Trump overall and there aren’t the kind of cheap potshots or warning of impending disaster like we see in the GOP quotes to the NY Slimes from other insiders or people like McPain and Grahamnesty. He says accurately why Trump is appealing to the voters and is mostly encouraging other candidates to get on board with Trump’s message, except when he becomes too “extreme.”
The “wives/daughters” line was the only piece of advice in there that was a little cheesy. Note that this memo was written 2 days after the Carly Face flap though so he was projecting based on that media environment.
For him to not address the issue of all the controversial statements by Trump would be political malpractice. Those are the main reasons I decided I would never vote for Trump over Cruz. Trump is a loose cannon when it comes to these potshots he takes and I could easily see him going over the line and hitting Hillary with something that most people would view as over-the-line. And being polite to people and not insulting them on silly things like their looks is not the same as being politically correct.
It's tough to fake this:
Judges 19:2
And his concubine played the whore against him, and went away from him unto her father’s house to Bethlehemjudah, and was there four whole months.
I’m not politically correct, so Trump’s speech, which the uniparty has harped on, does not bother me.
I want immigration reform. I want a trump wall on the Mexican border. Cruz is very weak on immigration and it’s highly important to me to get the illegals out (especially the criminals) and keep them out.
I still like Cruz, but he’s weak on immigration. It will be more of the same nonsense while we get invaded and overrun. I don’t want the future of this nation being guaranteed third world status. And we are too close already.
