Britain's Tories fail to reform costly tax credits for the middle class.
David Cameron's government last week abandoned its plan to reform Britain's expensive working-family tax credits. U.S. politicians who think this kind of "pro-family" tax policy is a good idea-hello, Marco Rubio might take note.
The centerpiece of Mr. Rubio's tax plan is an increase in the child tax credit to $2,500 from $1,000, despite its cost and lack of growth incentive. Such ideas may have a short-term political appeal, but eventually they become entitlements that benefit the left.

The IRS paid out at least $5.9 billion in improper payments of the additional child tax credit in 2013.
The IG previously reported that unauthorized workers were a major source of the improper payments.
The scheme involves illegal immigrants — illegal immigrants who are filing tax returns.
That’s why we have to apply aggressive measures to deal with illegal immigrants on every front. Cruz’s multifaceted plan of deportation, and cutting off all public assistance and employment, will quickly get a handle on the problem. Cruz says that deportations would be increased to include criminals and illegals that have contact with law enforcement and other government agencies.
Removing all incentives will cause self deportation as it did during Operation Wetback, when five times as many self deported as were removed through the program.
It will not result in mass chaos and great expense of deporting alone, only to incur more expense by processing the “good ones” back in.
Not just a bone, it’s simply PANDERING.
ANY tax plan (aside from repeal, burn and salt) is a disaster, let alone outright theft and Fascism. We the People (the 47% that DO pay) pay WAY too much for the ‘services’ authorized, let alone provided...I should say ALLOWED (unless you’re part of the pandered group).
