Donald Trump has become such a force in the Republican Party that the official overseeing next yearâs Senate races has proposed a delicate strategy for GOP candidates: tap into Trumpism without mimicking Trump.
In a seven-page, confidential memo that imagines Trump as the partyâs nominee, the head of the National Republican Senatorial Committee urges candidates to adopt many of Trumpâs tactics, issues and approaches â right down to adjusting the way they dress and how they use Twitter.
In the memo on the âTrump phenomenon,â NRSC executive director Ward Baker said Republicans should embrace his tough talk about China and âgrab onto the best elements of [his] anti-Washington populist agenda.â Above all, they should appeal to voters as genuine and beyond the influence of special interests.
âTrump has risen because voters see him as authentic, independent, direct, firm, â and believe he canât be bought,â Baker writes. âThese are the same character traits our candidates should be advancing in 2016. Thatâs Trump lesson #1.â

Unless that memo says undermine Trump at every opportunity, it isn’t the actual GOPe memo because that is most certainly what they’ll do to Trump or Cruz.
The Senators mentioned in this memo, especially McPain, Kelly Ayotte & Mark Kirk need to be primaried by conservatives. We don’t need anymore “Group of Eight” roadblocks.
This isn’t that surprising. The Republicans have made an industry out of pretending to be one thing and then doing whatever the hell they want after they get power. Trump-ish is just the deceptive flavor of the month.
I can just picture Mitch McConnell and Lyndsay Graham dropping the "F" bomb and calling some "fat broad" a "ugly pig".
I also think they have great respect for each other.
While I no longer think Cruz is his best VP choice, I’m sure Cruz will be doing something of measureless importance for America in the administration. Things that will echo down the halls of history for decades.
The coming years are going to be a joy to behold, and it will be a joy to watch my children and grandchildren experience a great American once again.
Thank God America is awakening.
What a pleasant surprise.
Good one! The other contenders have Stockholm Syndrome...
That’s exactly who I was thinking. Kelly Ayotte.

I hope that evil Fraud is defeated badly!
I used to work in marketing. We had some wonderful clients; but often, you would have this situation: you go to them with an incisive, creative idea that will get attention and increase their saies. The clients hate it and trash the idea. Then the project boss rewords your idea and says, "Let's do this instead", nearly word for word what you said. Then all his minions applaud the boss, throw you out of the office and denounce you. It happened a good 20% of the time with new pitches. People want things to be different, but they don't want them to change.
LOL...so MAD MEN wasn't far off. :-)
There you go. Fixed it.
Those pols should ALL be sent home !
It was so accurate I couldn't watch it.
Thank you kindly!
The GOOP is going to do everything they can to make sure Bush is the nominee.
