They are weird. No chance at all of getting a CCW around here. I had to give mine up when I moved, but I thought feeding my family was pretty important.

You do not need to notify the government of any guns you own when you move here, but to buy a new handgun, you now need a license and 8 hour training course. I think the course is waived if you’ve bought guns previously in MD.

AR-15 and 30 round magazines are banned for sale here. They sold like hotcakes in the 6 months after the law was signed but not yet enacted.

You may own and use 30 round magazines, but just can’t buy them here. Pennsylvania is 40 minutes from me.

Here’s the asinine part. A modern sporting rifle (AR-15) with a heavy target barrel and a normal AR lower receiver is readily available here. No waiting period or special requirements. But, get that same received with a thinner barrel, it’s banned.

That said, I live in a northern county away from the liberal masses. Nearly everyone I know is strongly conservative, or at least moderate and are supporters of 2A rights.

A group of older widows at church want me to teach them some basic survival techniques, mostly in the event of a major power outage etc. They want to include self defense.

That’s crazy.
I have four ARs and having to give them up or register them would be a huge no-go for me, but I haven’t been faced with such a decision, so that’s easy for me to say.
