If Donald Trump wins the Republican nomination, some of the most prominent conservative voices in the country say they would find it difficult, if not impossible, to support him.
Trump has sparred with many of Americaâs most noted conservative opinion makers over the course of his campaign, calling them âlosersâ and âidiotsâ on Twitter when they criticize him in columns and on television for what they perceive as his âclown[ish]â behavior, history of supporting liberal positions and demagoguery. But as it becomes increasingly evident the real estate billionaire actually has a real shot of winning the nomination, some are outright declaring that they wouldnât support Trump as the nominee, even against Hillary Clinton.
âCouldnât vote for Trump, couldnât vote for Hillary,â Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol told The Daily Caller in an email.
âWould have to find a good conservative to run as an independent whom I could vote for,â he added, before presumably joking: âOr will have to run myself!â
Conservative radio talk show host Michael Medved said he has begun to question whether he could support Trump as the Republican nominee.

Run over the faux Conservatives and leave the crumpled bodies in the roadway as a grim reminder to future idiots like Kristol and Medved.
These two clowns aren’t your typical 10 cents a dozens RINOs,
no, these are both top drawer frauds. They’re more than ready to huff, puff as they threaten to blow someone’s house down.. or, rain hell fire on them.
DiamondHardaway and Rochelle
SilkRichardson would be great as President Trumps Co-Press Secretaries.
“He may not be the best, most conservative candidate that the country has ever seen. But, he has the b@lls to say what he....”
IMHO (and meaning you no disrespect) Mr. Trump isn’t even remotely conservative. He just says the “right things.” I don’t believe he really means half of what he says and I cannot take him as being serious. He is a consummate showman and entertainer; that is undeniable. I think it is a great mistake that so many “conservatives” are supporting him. However, I won’t belittle anyone that does support him as it has proven to be counterproductive in changing any minds.
IMO Senator Cruz is the best choice (and ready to be CinC, which Mr. Trump is not IMO) and would easily beat Hillary if Mr. Trump wasn’t sucking all the air out of the room and standing in Senator Cruz’s way.
Mr. Trump has done the service of getting people to speak frankly, but that in itself is not a good reason, IMO, to give him the party nomination. IMO Mr. Trump says many of the “right things”, but he is the “wrong messenger.”
Now many years has Medved attacked anyone who doesn’t support the Pub nominee as idiots and losers? And now he would prefer Hillary? What an a-hole.
Kristol, really? I would have expected nothing less. I am just glad I do not have to see his face on tv anymore. Keep him wherever he is.
I stopped listening to Medved years ago. I wouldn’t even know where he broadcasts if he still does.

but RINOS like Medved and Hewitt just LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE a fellow RINO like Romeny or Jeb!
The Salem radio network is a haven for RINO talk show hosts, and that includes Laura Ingraham.
Kristol and Medved - - OK, that’s two votes Trump for get. Elites don’t ‘get it’ ... we outnumber them... by a whole lot.
+1
Hillary's win will really drive home the point that everyone ought to vote for conservatives and not populist blowhards.
I agree. Laura Ingraham started drinking the KoolAid when Mitt was running. Maybe even before. That was when I first heard her argue loudly about how great a candidate Mitt would be. She lost a lot of cred.
Trump has a name for these two.
And I think that is what the problem is with them and others (Prager, Hewitt). They see their nice little neat world coming to an end. I really think there is some truth to the idea that there are some in Republican circles that like things just the way they are. Dems in control, Repubs so close, but just out of the majority. The Senate, some media types...it gives them cover for the inability to make change and gives them a “problem” to harp about.
Per the headline; “Top Conservatives”, why do people call these RINO faux conservatives “CONSERVATIVES”?
Could somebody please answer that question for me?
Is that like saying “THE KENYAN”?
Well, they have the right to whine and either stay home or vote third party. They will give us Hillary. Gee, I had a nightmare that something like that happened a couple years ago.
