The confidence to engage rather than avoid.
This video has been around since July. I had heard about it, but never watched it. I’m not sure how, but I stumbled upon it last night.
In the video, Ted Cruz’s rally opposing the Iran nuclear deal was interrupted by Medea Benjamin and other Code Pink protesters.
Cruz could have reacted many ways. He could have shouted down the people shouting him down. He could have insulted them. He could have had security push them away.
But instead, he engaged. That’s what was important to me. The confidence to engage rather than avoid. Standing face to face with hostile protesters was very Andrew Breitbart-like.
When you watch this video, forget who won the argument, but focus on Cruz’s willingness to debate the leader of Code Pink, someone used to grabbing the spotlight. Cruz reduced Benjamin to a sideshow rather than center stage. It’s almost as if she was not there.
For me, watching it was a Ted Cruz moment.

Perhaps you should work on getting me banned so I won't offend your emotional sense with facts.
You make my point. Obama genius. Obama not good leader. More to leader than smart.
Class and respect.
Who’s making claim to be adult in room?
I think Trump is far to brash and bold.
We know Dons a goombah
and good for him for calling out El Chopo and Obama but he really hasn’t called out Chicago or Russia ,ISIS or anyone
Ted is a champion, who wants peace he says who’s shouting why are you shouting? I hear you and respond kindly
I want peace but if you want war it will be bloody red war

Uh. Obama elections prove you are mistaken.
Is it not true Trump has seen error of those alleged positions even if you are correct?
I am not privy to the inner circles but I understand people
Not here to bash Cruz, just Trump bashers. Ninety percent of the stuff happening on Cruz threads are the result of the inane bashing of Trump supporters, most of whom are Cruz supporters that have now come to believe Trump has the better chance. Cruz support does not mean we have to accept every bone head argument nor do they have to insult Trump supporters.
My tag was installed the day after the GOPe funded Obama's agenda, before the New House and Senate members were seated. I wanted to vote for a truthful presidential candidate before I died. (That would be Palin for sure.)
Can't dare to speak the truth huh?
I appreciate your clarification. I’m a Cruz guy who likes Trump too. I just trust Cruz more.
I have to agree. I like Ted Cruz but he is not ready.
Obama, Trump, Cruz are all confidence men
Question is who do you trust?
I am with Cruz
Ted Cruz is MORE than READY to be President.
He is the adult in the group and a true leader!!!
That’s not exactly a thoughtful information filled rebuttal to my argument that Ted is not ready. But its a great cheerleader moment. :-)
What Ted wants and what he will be able to deliver are very different things. Whatever we think of propriety and proper Constitutional conduct we are electing a Dictator next November. Congres has turned over virtually all power to the President and the Court has concurred. The President cannot give back that power to Congress except to confer on the Democrats in Congress- however large or small the Republican presence- and ultimately to the Bureaucracy that total power. The President has to do and be able to do some Fiat things. He has to abolish the Agencies. He has to abolish Civil Service. Without the second he is left with no agencies and a million unemployed bureaucrats that have to be paid and pensioned. He has to terminate most if not all government money to the States and local jurisdictions that is not Rent for for military facilities or the like. Then he has to induce the States to call the Article 5 Convention. The President cannot give the States back their rightful power. The States must be induced to take it back. Cruz is too Constitutionally principled to operate in that milieu. He may win the election and lose the Republic. Cruz is too Constitutionally principled to do that. That said. I don’t actually like Trump, but, again, he is the only one who Can and Might do what is necessary. I will bet on a maybe win as against a principled loser and I don’t mean an election loser, I mean someone who can’t get the job done. A Trump/Cruz ticket in that order is the only combination I can see that could get the job done and come back to the roots.
He has a good head on his shoulders and he is whippin it up better than Trump
Sigh there is much to answer here.
I am in Teds Camp
Obama can lick me fuzzys
