The confidence to engage rather than avoid.
This video has been around since July. I had heard about it, but never watched it. I’m not sure how, but I stumbled upon it last night.
In the video, Ted Cruz’s rally opposing the Iran nuclear deal was interrupted by Medea Benjamin and other Code Pink protesters.
Cruz could have reacted many ways. He could have shouted down the people shouting him down. He could have insulted them. He could have had security push them away.
But instead, he engaged. That’s what was important to me. The confidence to engage rather than avoid. Standing face to face with hostile protesters was very Andrew Breitbart-like.
When you watch this video, forget who won the argument, but focus on Cruz’s willingness to debate the leader of Code Pink, someone used to grabbing the spotlight. Cruz reduced Benjamin to a sideshow rather than center stage. It’s almost as if she was not there.
For me, watching it was a Ted Cruz moment.
Ted Cruz Takes Down Code Pink Hecklers on Iran (Video)
Yes, indeed, he is ready to be our Commander-in-Chief on Day one.
Watch it if you have 24 minutes.
Go Ted Go! I have your back
The only adult in the room
There is more to a candidate than ability to engage and debate. The smart do not necessarily make the best best leaders. Remember Adlai Stevenson sp? and Obama. And the times may call for different than smart.
These times certainly call for something other than the upping of the status quo on immigrant workers and trade agreements that have been Cruz’s positions for a long time.
And who cares? At the end of the day Cruz voted to give Obama easy approval of the Iran and TPP deals. We are not all so stupid as to forget that slight-of-hand and subsequent hypocrisy. All this other stuff does not change those basic facts.
Ted gently slaps down benjimin Madea and stomps her dry
Unscripted and off message is when he’s most dangerous.
His interview with Steven Crowder was one of his best.

I love Cruz. I pray he is role modeling for tons of young people, hope they are seeing the contrast of someone to look up to as opposed to trump’s whiny baby NY gotcha bull crap.
According to standards you apply to Mr. Cruz I guess you want your world to be jersey shore shock and drop, 24 hour theater, nothing really matters.
I love this guy and woukld follow him into battle

Don’t try to engage with a pig.
You won’t change his mind, and it just annoys the pig.
“We are going to gave peaceful conversation and hopefully not poke people with signs”
Ted Cruz Patriot and Statesman
have LOL
He is obviously a great orator, extremely bright, Constitutional law professor, yes, we get it. Unfortunately, the time for that has passed...we need immediate action and someone who can turn the tables around on the GOPe, media and illegal invasion now...we need someone who is not beholden to anyone or any $$....sorry, that’s not Ted. Bottom line is he will not push the envelope with the amnesty express crowd because he simply can’t. Yes, he’ll wax eloquently about this and that, he’ll get his barbs in on McConnell and the DC cartel, problem is he is part of it, like it or not, and he won’t be able to escape the tentacles of that power construct if nominated and elected. He’d be an awesome AG and SCOTUS where he can protect our rights and the Constitution.
Decision Time
I Choose Cruz
Well done, Senator Cruz.
Thanks for posting this, Isara.
Sorry but Obama is not smart.
