I see nowhere where Sen. Cruz mentions Planned Barrenhood as more than a place. In that the murderer took shelter in their location for most of the standoff, that is factually accurate. He explicitly said “no matter the motive,” murder is wrong. Got a problem with that? Frankly, he spent more time recognizing the bravery of first responders, and mourning the loss of the police officer.
As usual, Sen. Cruz responds with dignity, saying the precisely correct thing.
He should have kept his yap shut. This would have been appropriate, "I am particularly interested in this loss of life. When I have more facts at hand I will have comments to make. At this time I do not have enough information to address the issue. I will have no further comment at this time."
You actually buy into this comment, "I have spent much of my adult life working in law enforcement, working against murderers and those who commit violent crime, and that one officer lost his life is particularly tragic," Cruz said.
The loss of the other two people isn't as tragic?
That was just thoughtless. He was trying to be supportive of law enforcement but that isn't how you do that. This was not the quick decisive comment that was called for. Curz should have known better.
