Well, I’m voting for Ted Cruz, not his wife.

Do you have any hard evidence of wrongdoing on Mrs. Cruz’s part? Or is it all guilt by association? As far as I know, she has never been criminally prosecuted. By the way, I think she’s still on a leave of absence from GS, so it’s not clear how much input, if any, she has on the firm.

For me, it’s a matter of trust. Ted Cruz has a track record of truly representing the people who elected. None of the other candidates do. Elect one of the others and you will most likely find you have been lied to and cheated on. I’ve had enough of phony conservatives.

“There is no one who does good, not one.”

The fate of all humanity is to fall into its own flaws but not for accepting the saving grace of God.

Cruz is a highly religious person, no doubt about it. The level of explicit witness to at least some aspects of the Lord is like day vs. night. HOWEVER. Does Cruz have any kind of meaningful experience about which he can say, “God SAVED me”? I see that all over my own life. I’ve been a goof ball in myriad ways and God came kindly by and guided me back into the right path. Too perfect is too suspect. It doesn’t match the story of the bible about humanity, and the story that I know of humanity.

No question it is all guilt by association. To my knowledge, purely guilt by association.

In a way, that is the point. The leftist media destroys using guilt by association. And no Republican politician has yet found a way to defeat the practice. Cruz does not give the slightest indication he can do so.

That is not a knock on Cruz. That is simply reality.

Evidence? Since when has the leftist media needed evidence to construct a brutal narrative which drives out perfectly good people (Palin etc)?

The Goldman Sachs connection and the plutocrat donations will be enough fodder to construct a narrative which removes the Clinton corruption as an issue.

How good Cruz does in the debates (he would demolish Hillary) is irrelevant to the leftist control of our culture.

Cruz is a brilliant conservative. But so was Sarah.

Every conservative needs to ask who can defeat the leftist cultural hegemony, because we all know how brutally unfair things will be.

To start with, the necessities of holding political office will have weakened any Republican office holder, regardless of how good.

I realize it is just my opinion, but I think that weakness cannot be overcome by an officeholder.

How about neither of those things? It’s a simple case of conflict of interest. If she has loyalties to her employer, whether on LOA or not, and her husband wants to please his wife, decisions easily could be tainted.

This is a common issue in government and private industry. Conflict of interest can lead to some very bad stuff.
