“Until I am absolutely certain that I and people like me are not even a speck on their radar compared to certain âstereotypesâ of people to be suspicious of, I am hesitant to thank the police for anything.”
Until such time as you gain that certainty, have the courage of your convictions and don’t call them for anything. Handle your own problems in a manner which you are “certain” is the correct way. No law enforcement officer should be asked to put his life and that of his family in jeopardy for someone with your mindset.
I fully agree with the poster who suggested that law enforcement should stand down in certain neighborhoods for awhile and let the “objectors” take care of themselves for a time. The law officers jobs have become not only thankless, but in some instances, futile and suicidal. Why continue to ask them to sacrifice their whole lives and that of their families for a bunch of uncivilized ferals with a mob mentality?
I don’t hate the police as such, I detest “zero tolerance” attitudes that relieve an authority from what I see as it’s duty to think more critically than that.
“No law enforcement officer should be asked to put his life and that of his family in jeopardy for someone with your mindset.”
I’ve already thanked them in advance by paying my taxes, especially when there’s been an increase. What do crime-free people have to do, check to see what’s on the cops’ gift registries in order to be treated fairly?
If you read with a more diligent comprehension of what I posted, I said that I would be “hesitant” to thank the police for anything. Do you understand what that means?
