I don’t hate the police as such, I detest “zero tolerance” attitudes that relieve an authority from what I see as it’s duty to think more critically than that.

“I don’t hate the police as such, I detest “zero tolerance” attitudes that relieve an authority from what I see as it’s duty to think more critically than that.”

You have a very narrow view of the “then and now” of our society and America in general if you think the society and law enforcement today can be described as having “zero tolerance” in any way. The absolute mess in which this nation finds itself today is the result of unfettered tolerance of just about everything that is deviant or contrary to the laws of nature and common sense. The downfall that we’re experiencing right now comes from blanket permissiveness not intolerance.

Just a few decades ago, there was no question about what law enforcement could and would lawfully do when a person was ordered to stop and didn’t. Not so strangely, hardly anyone but the most desperate criminals with nothing to lose even thought about it. Today, law enforcement officers are required to stand while ferals shout and spit in their faces. They’re required to stand by and watch while giving the dregs of society “room to destroy” private and public property. They’re mostly required to walk among the most vile and murderous slime in our society daily knowing that the criminal has more freedom and firepower than they do.

Zero tolerance? Critical thinking? The public complains about being fined exorbitantly for small things like burned out tail lights and speeding. They’re the first to scream about where their tax dollars are going when there’s a pothole that needs fixing. Your tax dollars are going to feed, house, give free healthcare and assundries to the deadbeats that used to have to work to fix the pothole, not to mention providing clean needles, re-re-rehab and family support so that drug addicts can produce more drug addicts. Your tax dollars are also being spent to import more deadbeat non producers by the thousands who have no intention whatsoever of obeying any of our laws because we must “tolerate” diversity. There’s no caterwauling about those tax dollars, only the ones used to compensate and equip the dwindling few willing to step out into the mess we’ve created with our “tolerance”.
