Reviving a Constitutional Congress
My opinion is that the best way to save the Founder's vision for a free and moral America is a constitutional government.
The unconstitutional power of the presidency is largely in the unfettered authority of bureaucrats who answer only (as a practical matter) to the executive.
Eliminate the myriad of agencies which they administer , along with the myriad of from which they draw their authority which they administer, and much of the check and balances will be reestablished.
I would like nothing better but good luck with that.
Well, given a choice, I suppose I’d prefer a Constitutional Congress to the current marxist-islamic-executive-dictatorship aligned with the Rubber-Stamping Congress we currently have.
That said, I note that Cruz is just about the only candidate just mentioning the Constitution; the only one talking about restoring it. And, he is the candidate most knowledgeable about how it is supposed to work, as per the framer’s intentions.
In any case, good article in the link... Hillsdale rocks.
It was a another well-written description of what is wrong and what should be done.
What was absent was HOW to force change and reforms from the institutions that profit so well from the existing, corrupted system.
Unfort., that would require Congress to then take the ‘mantle of authority’; whereas, these days, they can hem and haw and hold lengthy ‘trials’ to get the ‘truth’, then shrug their shoulders saying, ‘Well, we TRIED’.
Congress would then be on the record for every vote, every tax, every regulation (now law(ful)) and thus on the record.
My suggestion how to return to a constitutional government is to elect representatives who will honor their oath to defend the Constitution.
Forget complaining about corporations, CEOs, and lobbyist you can't change and concentrate on the 435 members of the house, 100 Senators, 9 Supreme Court Justices, and 1 president that you can change.
Not even close to the instant gratification many Americans have become accustomed to but a viable goal nonetheless.
