Two in five millennials say the government should censor people who make 'offensive' public statements about minority groups
Americans aged 18 to 34 are most likely to believe the government should prevent people from saying offensive things about minority groups
Forty per cent of people in this age group agreed with the statement, compared with just 12 per cent of those aged 70 to 87 Meanwhile 58 per cent of Millennials said they thought people should be able to speak freely, compared with 80 per cent of 70 to 87 year olds
American Millennials are far more likely than older generations to say the government should be able to prevent people from saying offensive statements about minority groups.
Two in five Millenials - ie those aged 18 to 34 - believe the government should be able to prevent people from saying such things.
Pew say it found the results striking because only around a quarter of Generation Xers (27 per cent) and Boomers (24 per cent) - ie those aged 35 to 50 and those aged 51 to 69 - say the government should be able to prevent such speech.
The survey also found that compared with other countries, Americans hold the values of free speech dear and on the whole are less likely to favor the government being able to prevent speech of any kind.
The global survey found that two-thirds of Americans say that people should be able to say offensive things about minority groups publicly.
The topic what kind of speech should be tolerated also has resonance given recent news events, with racial issues on U.S. college campuses to questions about speech laws in Europe and views on refugees from the Middle East in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Paris.

If this "poll" had thrown Christians in as a "minority group" this number would have been well below 2 or 3 percent.
No surprise. Eighty percent of ‘millenials’ have never read the constitution.
Nearly 40% of “non-whites” believe the same...so some of it is due to our ever increasing minority population given that they tend to be younger. It will only get worse as the influx increases. Imagine that...like it was planned or something.
Garbage in, garbage out.
I refer to it as the Whimpification” of the US. Just give it time until the next major conflicted will evolve and with things going the way they are it may be here before we know it and most of those wimps will start to whistle a different tune.

I think of the scene in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland where she is in the Red Queen’s court, and unruly attendees at the court get “suppressed” by having a pillowcase pulled over their heads.
What kind of form would this even take. They don’t think through this very well.

There is 100 times more harassment of people voicing their honest opinion than all of the racism experienced by these “down trodden†spoiled Millennials.
When government replaces god in America, the American citizen becomes the victim of an ever expanding government. That government does not have as its philosophy the virtue of individual responsibility. In this void, no longer does the individual trust their own intellect and goes with the collective group think. Instead, the courage of an earlier generation with faith in God, has been replaced with excessive caution and a willingness to bow to government coercion. That is a major shift from the days when government oppression was resisted even unto death.

Besides that Bailiff and I have had run-ins before so I’m glad she didn’t continue, cause he was itching (they aren’t always them friendly Judge Judy Bailiffs) I know the guy outside the Courtroom and he is a total ASShhat and I may have mentioned it to him a time or two in passing.

The girls discussed the jerk versus skilled qualities they found in Tom Sawyer. Begged to watch the end of the ‘eewww black and white’ pride and prejudice, adoring Greer Garson and Laurence Olivier
I got a stack of six classic books to complete in ten months and for am lit I went to the home school store picked up a 1989 edition of holt. No idea what level that text was supposed to be for. Doesn’t matter. Paine, crane, Welty Franklin, everything in between.

They wrote surreal sonnets in teams, parodied the raven in groups and hated the old man and the sea. I never told them what to like
They love looney tunes and were amazed to learn it was all one voice the great Mel blanc. The watched falling off their seats the silent Harold Lloyd hanging off the clock
They recited Tennessee Williams the boys loved impersonating Katherine don’t know why and after knowing the story and characters 28 of them shut up for three whole class periods to watch Taylor and burton as Kate and petruccio, laughing at all the right parts

Young people are just the same as they were when I was their age. The boys are hilarious. They are quick. They despise hypocrisy. They make fun of racism realizing white kids are discriminated against. They hate being bored They like nice people and they are starved for the truth
I refuse to stereotype them or to hate them. This is not their mess. It’s the baby boomers that did this. U.S. Baby boomers. Trump is from 1946 a baby boomer it would be firing for him to lead us out of this because it is these poor hated millennial a who will not only have to flive with the ravages we’ve only begun to see but who we will trust to take care of us when we are old and infirm
