Two in five millennials say the government should censor people who make 'offensive' public statements about minority groups
Americans aged 18 to 34 are most likely to believe the government should prevent people from saying offensive things about minority groups
Forty per cent of people in this age group agreed with the statement, compared with just 12 per cent of those aged 70 to 87 Meanwhile 58 per cent of Millennials said they thought people should be able to speak freely, compared with 80 per cent of 70 to 87 year olds
American Millennials are far more likely than older generations to say the government should be able to prevent people from saying offensive statements about minority groups.
Two in five Millenials - ie those aged 18 to 34 - believe the government should be able to prevent people from saying such things.
Pew say it found the results striking because only around a quarter of Generation Xers (27 per cent) and Boomers (24 per cent) - ie those aged 35 to 50 and those aged 51 to 69 - say the government should be able to prevent such speech.
The survey also found that compared with other countries, Americans hold the values of free speech dear and on the whole are less likely to favor the government being able to prevent speech of any kind.
The global survey found that two-thirds of Americans say that people should be able to say offensive things about minority groups publicly.
The topic what kind of speech should be tolerated also has resonance given recent news events, with racial issues on U.S. college campuses to questions about speech laws in Europe and views on refugees from the Middle East in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Paris.

Parents who raised spoiled brats didn’t have a clue as to what they were doing... it’s 2 generations of dumb. look at the colleges.. they are giving to them.. blows my mind that some younguns can demand ANYTHING and it be granted.

Our education system at work, teaching our youth that only government approved speech shall ever be uttered. You shall never deny any of the ‘truths’ that the government gives you, and any who do should be restricted.
Welcome to what the liberals have brought us by first taking over the colleges, and then by taking over the schools through the teachers they’ve taught. It just goes downhill from here.

PS: please don’t blame the liberals TOO much. It takes two to tango their game. It takes listeners with vacuums in their heads, vacuums which in past generations were filled with that “stuffy God” who actually was the very best thing around and everyone used to know it, even if they couldn’t always get along with Him. There have always been fools like our modern liberals around. They used to get treated as crackpots and no real harm resulted.
The government is their god, their creator, the holder of student debt, the arbiter of bankruptcies from freely given credit, and the provider of food stamps and ‘job training assistance.’ Lo, it is government who tucks them into bed with an unemployment check and lets them sleep in.

The answer has always been shared by the bible. Share the gospel. And before it can be shared credibly, it has to be accepted and lived, otherwise you are out of your element.
I defend even the fascist’s right to to be wrong and to say it, print it and sing it. Even if they tend to be tattooed, ignorant, minority, man-hating feminist sluts who faithfully vote for any democrat not yet imprisoned including Alvin Green and Hillary.
The palefaces are the majority group. They’re politically okay for the Cherokee and anyone else to pan. Or did you mean something else?
Watters World show how uninformed these under 25 kids are. The ones he quickie interviews in the street look well scrubbed and middle class. They look happy and pleased with themselves. But they are complete idiots when it it comes to knowing about the minimum about politics and much of the world around them. They are victims of the self-esteem movement. They were flattered too often growing up. Too many participation trophies. What a joke.
Self righteous empty heads like this make good slaves. Obama and the Democrats know this and make it work for them.
Ultimately the answer is for the public to be willing not to have minds full of fluff. If that attitude is adopted, then you can have advocates for anything and it gets disdained if it’s palpably wrong, argued over if it’s arguable, and added to mainstream beliefs if it is obviously right.
The ridiculous question arises, who are you going to have as guardian of the morals. That person will then be the moral dictator. I’d sooner some credible God take that role, even if we can’t quite see in total agreement on all the details, than have some human power in the shadows do it.
It’s a modern day curse.
And like I’ve been indirectly talking about on another thread, if you then bring in a gaggle of fiends that actually believe in something (however evil) they are PUSHOVERS to these fiends.
Such folly, then, eventually punishes itself by what it welcomes. What happens to the rest of us along for this crazy ride, is often a story of being punished too.
