Looking at the table of election recommendations published in today's edition of The Times-Picayune, I was surprised to see the newspaper has endorsed David Vitter for Governor. The T-P isn't exactly a right-wing rag.
The only other newspaper in the city is the New Orleans edition of The Advocate. I don't know if an endorsement was made, but the paper is owned by Democrat businessman John Georges.
Pelican State ping
THE TIMES-PICAYUNE?!?!?
That has to be a misprint. Their default setting is a bit to the left of Bernie Sander, and a tad to the right of Louis Farrakhan.
Actually, the T-P posted a formal endorsement on November 15 on Nola.com.

I’m not familiar with this exact situation but keep in mind liberal papers will sometimes endorse a Republican when they think he has no chance of winning. It makes them look more balanced. RINOs in congress will sometimes vote for failing bills for the same reason.
All I know is that I am going to enjoy watching the exploding Leftist heads and the weeping and wailing on the Left if Vitter pulls it off and wins.
Go to the above Nola.com link to read the endorsement, which makes many good points in Vitter’s favor.

I KNOW!!! Boy, bel edwards must really be a sleaze for them not to endorse him. I don’t even read their rag because they are so biased! Very surprising.
Wow! Maybe the T-P sees an R sweep and is cutting their losses?
Very remarkable. Thanks for the link; it brightens my day.
Something above and beyond the usual makes my guts twist at the idea of Edwards as governor. A very strong foreboding, with no objective reason that I can recall.
But...
I’ve never been wrong with that premonition.
I sure hope Vitter pulls it off.
That’s a biggie.
Thanks rrstar96.
