I think that is a mistake.
The average person is going to see/hear “Daesh,” and unless they dig, which the average person won’t, they are not going to know or understand the meaning.
On the other hand, Islam is now a pretty well known quantity, and with the exception of the brain dead liberals, it is viewed, as it should be, as evil; which it is, despite the sentiments of the author.
the people who want us to use Daesh are Moslems so that we forget that this is the ISLAMIC state -- and so that Moslems can say "Daesh has got nothing to do with Islam" -- because in contrast if they said "Islamic state has got nothing to do with Islam" we'd laugh at them
