Swap the battery pack like they swap the tires. Then they could teach Tesla and Nissan how to do it right and quick.

I’ve actually caught a couple of electric “F-1” races. They’re fast and interesting for a few minutes but after that I go watch something else.

NASA-like races?

Because the only view of the race that fans would see is the takeoff..........LOL!

There's no reason why NASCAR couldn't be like [NASA]: a race with rules designed to reward the coolest, most advanced vehicle technologies To spur this kind of change, Nye says it would only take a single change to NASCAR's rule book: Place a limit on how much fuel teams can use during a race. Nye suggests no more than 21 gallons -- about half a tank for most modern cars.

I don't know who is a bigger duffs, Nye or the writer of this article who thinks the average vehicle on the road has a 42 gallon gas tank.

You make some good points. A few years ago, the Miss Budweiser unlimited hydroplane dominated the series for years. Seems like the driver always won. In 31 years, the team won 23 national championships.

No one else had the same amount of money to be able to compete.

NASCAR is an entertainment business. I’d like to see them add a dirt track to the circuit. I’d also make the plate tracks run true stock bodies with no engine restrictions.

There’s tons of innovation. That’s why they inspect the cars with a fine tooth comb.

Finding holes in the rule books is part of the game. Chad Knaus is probably the best current crew chief at that.

I bought a 67 Plymouth Satellite back in September of 66. Richard Petty was no small reason that I bought that particular car. Now the cars are fake. No need to weld the doors shut. These are just generic closed wheel cars covered with colored film stretched over to simulate an existing car and advertise.

Say what you will about mass coverage of the sport. I Stopped watching when the cars stopped being STOCK CARS

What’s wrong? Not enough Muslim outreach in NASCAR?

Why not do both NASCAR & NASA-like races?
************
We do. There are many auto racing categories... F1 (the NASA equivalent) is dead in the USA ,,, you want entertainment and high tech watch rallies...

Engineering is an application of science.

When was the last time Bill Nye engineered anything?

I am a classically trained engineer so I consider myself a scientist of sorts.

I don't consider formal training a definitive metric. You can be a scientist without any formal training at all. It's not what you know, it's what you DO.

Formal scientific training helps anyone spot a hoax like gloBULL warming.

Formal scientific training helps anyone spot a hoax like gloBULL warming.

Too many that have had that training are complicit in the hoax. Bill Nye is a propagandist employing an "appeal to authority" fallacy, hoping that people will automatically equate scientific training and credentials with the objectivity of a true scientist.

GloBULL warming proves that some scientists put grant money and politics ahead of good science. Which is shocking to me. I guess many in academics are socialist and put that above being objective. They know this is bad science but the pay is good.
